I was thinking that, too. In my state you don't have to register for anything. You just go vote. But apparently other states have more restrictive requirements. WHAT IF these 20,000 voters are switching over to Independent so they can vote for Trump, THEN switch back after the election. Their thinking might be that Trump is a loser, and if they can get him the nomination, it will be easier for Hildabeast to win.
In my state that's what we'd do every election: Vote for the weakest of the opposing party in the primary hoping to gain an advantage in the General.
I don't know if this is the case here. Has there any polling been done to ascertain why these 20K shifted?

Yes. The migration is now in the MSM. Folks, this is why he is winning in the national polls and will win the general election. It is time for the GOP to get behind him. Sanders is who was wanted and Hillary is the one with the ceiling it seems. I would like to see if the polling shows that these were Bernie supporters.

Nearly 20,000 Bay State Democrats have fled the party this winter, with thousands doing so to join the Republican ranks, according to the state’s top elections official.
Secretary of State William Galvin said more than 16,300 Democrats have shed their party affiliation and become independent voters since Jan. 1, while nearly 3,500 more shifted to the MassGOP ahead of tomorrow’s “Super Tuesday” presidential primary.
This article is showing that there are those who are not looking for the establishment type candidate and are willing to cross parties to makes sure we are not in the same situation as we have been for decades. Records numbers are going to turn out for Super Tuesday.

My dad is a MA Dem. He does not like Clinton, an likes Sanders, but will vote Clinton because he thinks she can beat Republicans, and beating Republicans is the #1 priority, a good president is secondary to that.

One day America will fix its healthcare system and when that day comes, we'll get you the help you need. Mental disorders are treatable, you do t have to go through this alone. None of you Drumpf supporters have to suffer alone or in silence anymore. It can get better.

Amid Trump surge nearly 20,000 Mass. voters quit Democratic party
I hate to rain on this parade, but the DNC isn't too worried,
Not when they can make 'instant' voters from illegals.
Which is why that LAW gets IGNORED.

Only in the fevered dreams and deranged fantasies of bawling liberals as they watch him go straight into the White House.

Did we forget this little piece at the bottom of the article?
The 19,800 who left the Mass Dems represent about 1.3 percent of the 1.49 million enrolled in the party. And though the MassGOP gained several thousand voters, it actually lost more in the same time frame, when 5,911 quit the party to be unenrolled.

" the lesser of the two evils."
My apology for not quoting your entire post. Those six words, are in fact the issue at the heart of ever Presidential
election. We are all led to believe we have a choice. I have yet to speak with any intelligent individual who has not
uttered these words. " I voted for the lesser of two evils " WOW ! Political banter makes for great theater. Unfortunately
the PEOPLE always lose. Some, or many may disagree with my opinion. That's fine, I simply do not see OUR lives moving
forward financially or with respect to the dreaded cloud of 1984 with either candidate.
