I was thinking that, too. In my state you don't have to register for anything. You just go vote. But apparently other states have more restrictive requirements. WHAT IF these 20,000 voters are switching over to Independent so they can vote for Trump, THEN switch back after the election. Their thinking might be that Trump is a loser, and if they can get him the nomination, it will be easier for Hildabeast to win.

In my state that's what we'd do every election: Vote for the weakest of the opposing party in the primary hoping to gain an advantage in the General.

I don't know if this is the case here. Has there any polling been done to ascertain why these 20K shifted?

My dad is a MA Dem. He does not like Clinton, an likes Sanders, but will vote Clinton because he thinks she can beat Republicans, and beating Republicans is the #1 priority, a good president is secondary to that.

Yes. The migration is now in the MSM. Folks, this is why he is winning in the national polls and will win the general election. It is time for the GOP to get behind him. Sanders is who was wanted and Hillary is the one with the ceiling it seems. I would like to see if the polling shows that these were Bernie supporters.

Nearly 20,000 Bay State Democrats have fled the party this winter, with thousands doing so to join the Republican ranks, according to the state’s top elections official.

Secretary of State William Galvin said more than 16,300 Democrats have shed their party affiliation and become independent voters since Jan. 1, while nearly 3,500 more shifted to the MassGOP ahead of tomorrow’s “Super Tuesday” presidential primary.

This article is showing that there are those who are not looking for the establishment type candidate and are willing to cross parties to makes sure we are not in the same situation as we have been for decades. Records numbers are going to turn out for Super Tuesday.

That's great news that Trump turned their eyes on the error of their socialist ways and now they're ready to dig deep and become pillars of Republican strength. I guess it takes a red-blood businessman to show the country what lurks behind the war-clad Republican's ranks. Our economic peril could also have something to do with it, like a one-two punch. He seems like the natural fit for this nation's problems.

I would assume they are going to frame a rabid left wing democrat if it does happen...

So you agree that voting your party is more important than voting for someone that may change the trajectory of this country for the better?

Your dad would have worked well at the Vatican protecting their own...

So when they say as many as 20% of Democrats will vote for Trump, here is the first wave of the shift.

I hate to rain on this parade, but the DNC isn't too worried,

Not when they can make 'instant' voters from illegals.

Which is why that LAW gets IGNORED.

I am laughing so hard tears are running down my face. Too funny! I voted Trump, but that was the cutest! You are too cool!

Its becoming quite clear that Trump is becoming an unstoppable force. The more and more people try to character assassinate him, the more and more support he gets. I've never seen anything like it before. It seems like Trump can do no wrong and say no wrong at this point. Hillary wont stand a chance at beating him if its her and him.

On CNN last night, someone mentioned that the best way to stop Trump is to ignore Trump. The more publicity he gets (negative or positive) the more support he gets. America is beginning to rally around Trump, and it'll become a nation wide movement before its all said and done. I predict that the majority of Bernie votes will go to Trump when Bernie falls out.

My only Trump gripe, is that Trump strikes me as a man who surrounds himself with a lot of think tanks and lets them do the work while he takes all the credit. He is constantly talking about these people he has in his corner who are the "smartest people in the world" at doing what they do and this and that. Guess we'll see, LOL.

Again, these are well known primary tactics. Voters switch parties or go Independent in order to help push an opposing candidate (the one viewed least likely to win and will do the most damage to the opposing party) into the nomination and then switch back to their original party to vote against him/her in the general election.

Make no mistake, savvy Dems want Trump to win the primary - so they can bring him on the national stage to embarrass & destroy him while hanging Trump around the Republicans parties neck for generations to come.

I predict by the time the left is done with the Donald- he will become the new "go to" name when referencing International atrocities like Hitlers name is used.

Republicans know this and they're mostly freaking the hell out over it.

Trump is not so much an unstoppable force as a powerful media phenomenon.

For all the whining about the MSM, it and Trump are in a symbiotic relationship. He provides the soundbites, they provide the broadcast.

Without him, they would have to find another fifteen minute man.

Without them, he is a minor actor on the political stage.

And let's keep some perspective - at the moment, he may be front runner for the Republican leadership but he still represents a minority of a minority. And even then he has the convention to deal with.

It all balances when you take the suspect voting machines into account.

It's going to take more than establishment politics and establishment thinking to beat Donald Trump. This is why people are saying Bernie has the better chance at beating him than Hillary does. And its looking like it will be Hillary. Trump will beat Hillary by a landslide. I predict that the majority of Bernie votes will go toward Trump once Bernie falls out of the race. Reason I say this, is due to the fact that side of the Dem party absolutely hates Hillary. They'll see Trump as the lesser of the two evils. A lot of people will for that matter.

Only in the fevered dreams and deranged fantasies of bawling liberals as they watch him go straight into the White House.

Here is the thing...the country needs republicans...but trump is not that..

He will lose, but not before sinking the republican party.

A failed republican party is not good for Democrats or Republicans ...or Americans..

Our success rests in the balance between the parties..

The far right has demanded a death-match...they will get Trump as Nominee and lose...and the GOP will be splintered into 3rd party factions.

Honestly watching Trump get nominated makes me sad for our country..

Did we forget this little piece at the bottom of the article?

The 19,800 who left the Mass Dems represent about 1.3 percent of the 1.49 million enrolled in the party. And though the MassGOP gained several thousand voters, it actually lost more in the same time frame, when 5,911 quit the party to be unenrolled.

It's like all of the Fascists here are just covering their ears and going "LALALALALA I can't hear you!" and ignoring this important bit of information.

" the lesser of the two evils."

My apology for not quoting your entire post. Those six words, are in fact the issue at the heart of ever Presidential

election. We are all led to believe we have a choice. I have yet to speak with any intelligent individual who has not

uttered these words. " I voted for the lesser of two evils " WOW ! Political banter makes for great theater. Unfortunately

the PEOPLE always lose. Some, or many may disagree with my opinion. That's fine, I simply do not see OUR lives moving

forward financially or with respect to the dreaded cloud of 1984 with either candidate.
