I can't see this scenario coming to fruition--a Rubio nomination, that is. In the unlikely event Rubio gains the nomination, and picks Cruz for the SC, would replacing a strict Constitutionalist like the recently departed Scalia with a self-professed strict Constitutionalist even be possible? As much as I'd like to have a SCJ that interprets the BOR as it was written, I think the whole scenario is a pipe dream at best for the GOP.

I don't much pay attention to attire honestly. More what they say and how they say it.

Didn't actually know they had waffles. Homemade are the best (for both).

I heard a great idea today!

Nominate someone who has fought in wars/conflicts for the next SCOTUS. Seems we have enough from academia already?

I would hope that Cruz is removed from public service at the earliest opportunity. It's bad enough that he is a Senator, but SCOTUS? No way. His level of dishonesty is typical of establishment overlord politicians. They needed to be booted out, not given new jobs in Govt.

Care to back up your claims w facts other that "because trump says so"

Lol. Always find it ironic trump supporters calling other candidates dishonest

Its been done to death - been round this round with so many Cruz supporters. You point out his lies and they reach for technicalities on what a lie is and ignore what is right in front of their face. It matter snot.

Cruz is a liar and the world knows he is, no matter how much his disciples try and excuse him.

I doubt it.

I see Rubio as having less chance to win his home state than Cruz has of winning his. It would be more likely that Trump might buy Cruz out this way, and I'd actually like to see Cruz on the SCOTUS.

You have it exactly right. Nothing for Rubio in a Trump administration.

Kaisich will be Trump's V.P.
Christie will be Trump's A.G.
Giuliani will be Secretary of State
Cruz Supreme Court

I could almost see the first 3 Cruz however no way. His sister is already a judge at the circuit level so my guess is he would just move her up to the supreme Court. Or at the very least she would have a huge say in who got the seat.

All I know is that if I were Trump, I would not want to pick ANYONE for VP that the establishment would prefer to have as president. It might not be good for Trump's health to have such a VP.

A gold star for you. A side-note: I realized last night that no candidate on either side served, and it prodded me to thinking about the impact on one's decision making. Just food for thought.

I only think if he were to round out his ticket with a war hero like petraeus would be highmy beneficial. Hillary will be hitting him hard on her experience and his ability to be commander in chief.

I don't see him getting enough votes, the majority in congress and in the Senate hate the guy.

Yea, I served. Even though I was a band fag, I had to pick either being a perimeter guard or a medic as my SHTF specialty. I chose perimeter guard!

Not to mention not one soul has endorsed him except for his Texas cronies. The only ad here has been the Governor's endorsement saying the Cruz you saw in the Senate is the Cruz you will get as president. Really? Good reason not to vote for him imo. He is divisive and has accomplished nothing.

Rubio has ads touting his opposition to elites and how he helped put the establishment in their place.

You can't do anything unless you can bring people over to your point of view. Cruz had no allies in the senate almost unheard of. I think Lindsey Graham said it best “He plays into the frustrations and passions of good people and creates narratives that don’t exist at the expense of others.” He's at the point in the senate even the Republicans are blocking him from doing things. He attacks senators needlessly and had ostrisized himself in the senate. Females think he's creepy and the males see him as an opportunist and a back stabber. Even in his own state he had the same problems his career in politics is over. And there is no way he would get through a senate confirmation hearing.

If Cruz were to announce his running mate right now (before Super Tuesday), he may still have a shot at beating Trump... depending on who he has in mind of course.

I have seen politifact and studied the instances of claims for a few of the candidates . They are all liars.

The site clearly shows Cruz is no different. The big difference is that Cruz is running his whole campaign on his honesty. He is lying about the very essence of his campaign. On the other hand Trump clearly exaggerates the truth/ lies all the time. No one really cares because he is not making his honesty the basis of his campaign. That's just life. Cruz chose to try and mislead the American people with his Trusted campaign. He made his bed and now he has been caught and shown to be a liar, he has to live with it.

If you look up the actual meaning of the word lie, you will realise that lying is not a black and white matter at all. The broad definition(s) include intentionally misleading. Cruz is a master of that by telling half truths and citing out of context statements to weave a narrative with the express purpose of misleading. You know it, I know it, everyone knows it. There is no point continuing the discussion on it any further with you. As I said, been down that road one too many times.

Even looking at those images before starting it looked weird.

Question about American politics and election. The Scandinavian nations are amazing places to live in (maybe not now due to migrants) and Sanders supports such policies. He is a democrat, not a socialist, except a socialist democrat. I don't understand the disdain for him.

You have what is called secondary socialism.

It is still socialism which presumes that teh government has every right to control the economy for a mythical "greater good."

You think American politics is corrupt and scandal ridden now? Just wait until you put it in charge of the true lion's share of production either directly through true socialism or indirectly by letting it tax away the larger share of profit from business and individual gains and/or control most of how goods and services are produced through the heavy hand of regulation.

Then you'll see corruption like you've never seen it before.

Not only that, but you live in a small country with a population that is still mostly ethnically homogenous and of largely one culture. Your total population is smaller than many of our states.

You cannot translate your systems to our nation. We are many times larger (350mill+ citizens) with many diverse ethnicities and interests, diverse cultural backgrounds and needs even amongst one ethnic population, and differing regional needs and abilities. It simply would not work at this scale like it might somewhat work at yours.

That's funny, it works in Canada, and Canada is more diverse than the US.

There is literally no data suggesting it would not scale. Yes, we have 10x the population of Canada. What makes you think it couldn't scale? What evidence do you have?
