What Zaph said, but just to add. Bigtrain , you are assuming that an aircraft taking off leads to a prediction of both strike time and more importantly location.

Tankers, longer loiter times and FOBs mean that it's very easy to confuse an enemy if required. Also, think about this...If I were the enemy and the only indication that I had that a strike was imminent was the launch of the B-21 from it's home base, I'd have to launch every defensive squadron around every potential target every time they launched. If I'm China and this is happening at night (even perhaps daylight)....i'm screwed! If I'm North Korea....i'm screwed whenever this is happening. If I'm Russia, or an annexed state I'm screwed. Hell there would be generals ordering squadron launches just for giggles!

It's simple, supersonic means you can see it, hear it, and detect it from plenty of range to vector in fighters and engage. Game over.

If you can't see it...literally....and you can't detect it and you can't hear it and you don't know where it's heading and when it's going to get there please explain to me how you engage it?

Cheers
Robbie

Especially in a day and age when the most advanced SAM systems in development by the USA, China, Russia, The UK/Germany/France, and Israel are ALL designed around boost and midcourse-phase kinetic kills of ICBMs/SLBMs/IRBMs and satellite kills.

Compared to the velocities involved in taking down a satellite or ICBM, even the Green Lady looks like a Cessna 150.

Haha wow...

It's been a number of years since I've seen various documentaries on 'future weapons that discuss methods of what we would consider 'cloaking for things like camoflouge for individual soldiers, so it wouldn't surprise me if that tech exists and has been applied to aircraft...

@C0bbz your description of what someone saw in Pasadena seems exactly the same as mine.

How similar did it look like to either of these?

Also did it look like Taranis or X-47?

That's pretty much exactly what the B-21 looks like, but with straighter lines.

No the lines were all wonky on the plane haha It sort of is the same shape as a Tarannis and X47b just larger but not the same size as a B2 slightly smaller hard to tell between clouds and altitude. Is that because is efficient for endurance and stealth and why they're all kind of similar?

A flying wing tends to already have a lower RCS, even before you start adding all the RAM and other features. They don't have all the right angles and places to bounce a radar signal back to the transmitter, and because of their size, the B-2 and B-21 can hide better from lower frequency radars.

In the article C0bbz left what are the two planes seen there as they don't really look like what I saw?
Also on it's trip to Scotland would they be testing it against our air defences and radar as I'm guessing they're about as advanced as they get?

Classified.

They were doing dog and pony shows for people that need to be in the know, as well as testing against various systems and conditions.

So they weren't related to the B21 then? I thought they might have been a prototype of it and then maybe modified the shape afterwards to improve them.

The B-21 that's currently flying is a proof of concept demonstrator. They haven't flown the actual prototype yet. There are quite a few classified types flying around as either proof of concept platforms or demonstrators, and a few actual active programs.

Oh that's interesting especially if they aren't bombers it does make me wonder what they're able to do. Also if the B21 gets a full production run and the numbers they're actually quoting is there likely to be a squadron of thm operating out of the UK at all?

Probably not. They'll go over for various reasons, but I doubt they'll get stationed there.
