Sounds like the EU is acting like a very bitter ex. How long before they start slashing tyres and boiling pet rabbits.

The EU is just protecting its borders. Something the UK is quite bad at.

Not bloody likely...................Rotty is dotty, blinded and guided by her own dreams of being the Queen of a sovereign state. Power is her desire and is prepared to sacrifice Scotland for it!

In my view if there is another referendum post BREXIT the Scots will vote to stay in the UK again because Rotty's actions are illogical and could be bad for Scotland in the long run. She wants out of UK but in EU, in and out is not consistent nor makes sense to me! Rotty is taking the Scots for fools a serious miscalculation!

Now that's not that surprising. Rotty has been having her honeymoon period and they all come to an end. The position she has taken re: Scottish independence and EU member are in my view not compatible. People are starting to see through her game and are probably confused by her OUT UK / IN EU stance which suggests she is more interested in being the political Queen of an independent Scotland and is happy with all the risks that entails. I am not sure that the Scottish electorate is! And also pushing again so soon for another referendum is doing herself no favours (opportunism in the political realm is often not well received). It may be the beginning of the end of Rotty who's a Scotty possibly going Potty!

As the eve of one, if not the most momentous occasion in the UK's history approaches (triggering of Article 50, lets reflect on the June 2016 referendum and what was said by our so called trusted government and politicians about leaving the EU and what it would mean for the UK.

Well, I suppose the terms used by the leading remainers including the previous PM and Chancellor, economic disaster within months, economic armageddon, loss of jobs, prices in shops will rise, catastrophic for the UK, says it all!

When in fact the opposite will be truth and many remainers are now brexiters.

On a personal note, I at the time this thread was created stated that the UK people would vote to BREXIT and that all the scaremongering was BS and asked people to think good and hard before they voted!

Thus I am proud that the people voted BREXIT and this thread which continues to follow the brexit process and will do so to the day is all done! And I hope that fellow contributors will continue to contribute until then also. So those who have faded away time to fade back in and discuss the issues and process as it develops.

And has been so since Enoch Powells time and we didn't heed his warning but he was spot on! The damage done is bad and I don't think anything can be done about it apart from stopping it getting worse and sending some people back that don't belong!

UK could quit EU without paying a penny, say Lords

www.msn.com...

We should pay them nothing and play hard ball - whilst organising the bi-lateral trade deals we need. Let the EU risk closing off the UK market to EU businesses. It would ruin them and by the time they had passed trade deals via their complicated laborious process they'd be bankrupt.
Agree, you should read the latest! It's a bloody EU panty!
