So I found a blog where someone in Mendocino County Ca posts their sightings. I had many sightings when living there but this one stood out the most... I'm sure many of you remember a recent thread I had made about it.

mendosightings.wordpress.com...

Sitting on my back porch stargazing, I noticed what at first I thought was a satellite. The skies are very clear up here and it is very common to see satellites moving across the star scape. When the satellite crossed about due north from me it grew five to six times the size and brightness. It then stopped its trajectory. I sat in interest to see what would happen but not particularly interested until it quickly grew in size and intensity and I realized that it was actually getting closer although very far off. It shot across three quarters of the horizon in a moment flashed green and then disappeared.

Ok so there are minor differences. My experience happened in broad daylight and it flashed red when it exit the atmosphere. It got very close to us, very close.

Still searching for more information.

Beware the "rabbit hole."

Your words freaked me out when I read the "flashed red" as I had never heard that from anyone else, before now. I've seen the same sort of thing.

I sat outside one summer night last year, and I watched a bright object shoot into the sky from below my tree line, above what I would guess to be towards Hartford, CT which is around 40+ miles away. As it rapidly rose, it blinked 4 times and during the last dimmest blink I noticed that the light shifted to red as it blinked out of sight.... Weird.
