Just imagine ... we could see Elizabeth Warren AND Barack Obama on the Supreme Court with nearly another decade of a Democrat in the White House ... and Obama will only be 57 next year and Warren only 66.

Oh, oh ... what about Albert Gore Jr? ... you got to figure Hillary will get to appoint at least three ... maybe ... Howard Dean as well?

Oh ... the humanity.

LOL ... me too.

Happy V-day to you too Marge.

... but before you go ... just try it out for once ...

Chief Justice Barack Hussein Obama ...

Just brings a tear the eye ... don't it?

[/quote

Now you're just spouting nonsense. The only way that Obama could even be considered for Chief Justice is if Roberts steps down, or decides to relinquish Chief Justice duties while remaining an associate justice. Even if that were the case, Obama not only has to have his appointment confirmed, but also Chief Justice status.

Don't get fooled by Warren she is a progressive, I know she support some issues that people love, but she is a progressive, under progressives the constitution is in danger.

Hey I am native American too.

hated by your own people thats gotta be tough

Yes my fellow Americans hate me not because I'm part cherokee.

But because I am a 'right' winger.

that was my point
your fellow native americans (im guessing you are embellishing like always and are like 1/16 or something if at all) probably dislike you though
you embrace everything that they have spent tens of thousands of years studying and then rejecting

The question is obviously addressing large sums of money from minimal sources & their political control, not the general populations spending towards political campaigns. You're arguing something totally different, & Bernies (supposedly) many donations makes it seem like more people are trying to get involved instead of spending on porn.

IF people were seriously about 'adressing' large sums of money used to buy people.

They would end social programs since that is the entire practical aim of their creation.

Some people choose to vilify CU and them evil corporations, and ignore the elephant in the room.

Senator Warren doesn't fool me at all. In fact, were she running for President, she would be my absolute pick.

Progressives are no more "dangerous" to the Constitution than anyone else, Marge. I thought you didn't drink the Kool-Aid. ...

I don't expect V day to last much longer after how 'misogynist' it is.

Perhaps Hillary should pass an Executive Order that throws a bunch of money, raised by taxing the 1% at 100%, in to time machine research at a wasteful liberal college so we can go back in time to kidnap Karl Marx.

Even though he would be considered an illegal alien, we give him the proper forged documents, fabricate his legal credentials and nominate him to the Supreme Court?

That sounds reasonable, does it not?

One thing is the presidential seat, she may be ok as president like you say, but another to be seated in the supreme court where justices job is to interpret and protect the constitution, I don't think she will want a supreme justice job.

Well is been under attack already by minority groups that are using their rights to religion to make it offensive.

And is not the Christians doing it either.

don't think he can hold both positions, and well, if he did actually step down as president, that would leave us with Biden.... which to me is the scariest nightmare of all....

and well, I just don't want the seat to go unfilled till he leaves office, either so that the republicans can pick, or that he could pick himself, which is highly doubtful by the way. I realize that it's like a stick of dynamite being thrown into the political ring but well, the best way to diffuse that would be to get the position filled as soon a reasonably possible. which is why I am saying he should appoint a moderate republican who is known to be not only qualified but also not ruled by politics. that way if the congress refuses, then that stick of dynamite is gonna blow up in their faces!

besides, letting the seat go unfilled because of political bs is shortchanging not only those parties that have cases coming up in the court but also the american citizens. since each one of those cases were deemed worthy to be heard, and well, there is now no guarentee that there will be a majority vote. and I lean to the left, and I see this as a problem when as it stands now, if all the judges vote according to their political leanings, well, I do believe that the best the conservatives can hope for is a tie... which for those poor sisters of the poor, would equate to a loss. they might have lost even if we didn't lose a justice, but they at least had a better chance of winning with him around... and, I don't actually agree with their arguments either..

I don't think that you quite grasp the process here. The sitting Chief justice remains Chief Justice until he steps down or dies. John Roberts is a relatively young man. He's not going anywhere, and whomever becomes president has no say in the matter.

i see youre shocked as well
(it a thinly veiled christian holiday why would they be the ones doing it? other than theyre the general culprit in just about everything else)

That's a problem which people should have problems with.

If term limits are good enough for a Potus. They are good enough for the Scotus, and should also be enforced on the Congress.

More reasonable than anything I'm hearing here from the Right ... (and in that, I'm not kidding ...)

(Sadly.)

Hey, while we've got the Time Machine, we should go get those other two well-known historical Communists ...

Thomas Paine and Jesus Christ ...

Oh, I see these things coming, I know also that is coming from the minority groups right now, but those minority groups are the ones that will become the vocal majority if we allow them to do so, because is not about taking in Americas way of life, but imposing theirs.

Anyway that is another topic and another thread.

Really, *I'm* the one that doesn't understand what's going on? I wish you knew why that's funny in this instance.

Seriously, Chief Justices have been known to step down ... and wasn't the Right claiming a couple of year's ago that Obama has Roberts in the bag somehow? Blackmail or something?

You just never know ... do you?

Interestingly I was having a very nice discussion about this same issue of terms or life terms positions like congress and supreme court.

This life terms should never be part in our government.
