Life can be rough at times.

Which is why man invented alcohol. Apply liberally to the affected area and repeat as necessary.

No sport is as exciting as football (soccer)

Soccer is a boring sport.

No home-runs.
No pinpoint passes into an EXTREMELY small target with people trying to tacking/hit you for a 1st down.
No hail-Mary touchdown with no time on the clock.
No defensive stop tackle for loss on a 3rd down run play with a good running back putting them out of field goal range.
No triple play.
No blitz packages and the quarterback trying to adjust the offensive line to the blitz.
No superman catch in the right out field to win a game.
No "no-hitters" or " perfect games" or hitting streaks.
No Stephen Curry taking over a game with efficient shooting and excellent passing.
No manufacturing runs in a defensively dominated game/series.
No sack safety to setup a game winning 50 yard field goal.
No interceptions.
No Hockey fights.
No Hockey checks.
No Hockey speed.
No stolen bases.
No successful onside kicks.
No fumbles to turn a game.
No 50+ yard foul goal to win or force OT.
No dominant pitchers taking over the game.
No blocked field goal turnover touchdown to win a game with no time on the clock.
No crazy redzone gadget plays to setup a touchdown.
No running in-between the tackles and breaking it into a large run with pure dexterity, technique and awareness.

Soccer offers none of this.

I just can't respect a sport without a salary cap or a luxury cap.

I can't respect a sport featuring a guy swinging at balls for 4 hours.
Fights? I'm not in high school any longer, plus I get to see enough of that crap while on the subway.
You mention technique, dexterity and awareness....yet also included baseball in this so I'll take it like you've had several shots of some hard stuff.
Seems like you forgot to mention nascar and how exciting of a sport that is.

That's why football ( soccer ) is the most watched, played and enjoyed game on the planet.
It has none of the above rubbish.

No Hockey fights

You have never watched a football game then.

I would bet a pound to a penny that if The Americans had invented football ( soccer ) instead of The British, Americans would say it is the greatest game on the planet.

90-100mph+ solid ball traveling close to your head. Really easy to hit that with a bat.
Fights? I'm not in high school any longer, plus I get to see enough of that crap while on the subway.
Yeah high level boxing and MMA sucks right? lol

Nice strawman.I was talking about American football and moving between blocks to gain yards. Remember, unlike rugby anyone can be tackled not just the ball-handler. That makes American football even more dangerous.
Seems like you forgot to mention NASCAR and how exciting of a sport that is.
NASCAR is our only major free-form(doesn't stop) sport does it outdo the NFL on TV? No. That is the reason we don't care much for soccer here. It is free-form and ALMOST ALL of our sports are segmented for commercial breaks and getting up and getting a beverage or use the bathroom.

I seriously tried to like soccer but it is hard to get entertained with people kicking a ball to each other for over 90 minutes long. There is nothing there. With basketball you have 3 pointers, blocks and dunks. With American football you have touchdowns, field goals,sacks,(clean/legal) hits and turn overs.

What does soccer have?

It is still a boring sport. If people grew up on the NFL,NBA,MLB they would enjoy it more than soccer. It doesn't even have a salary cap or luxury tax to prevent rich clubs from buying titles. That is one thing that is superior in MLS compared to the vastly more skilled UEFA leagues.Games and titles are decided on the field/pitch not before the season by owners/CEOs/ general managers/scouts.

To most of us soccer is just a boring, uneventful sport.More exciting than golf but still boring. Take Hockey. It is better than soccer in every way.More physical. ***No drawn games***. A playoff. ***Excellent parity***. Tougher than any form of football.Legalized fist fights. ***More scoring***. More saves.Hard checks that take people off their feet. ***More scoring attempts***. A LOT FASTER.

Yeah soccer is a boring sport to most of the United States. I won that argument.

you're entertained by baseball.

Does soccer have home-runs? Does soccer have pitcher duels? Does soccer have squeeze plays? Does soccer have stolen bases? Does soccer have a luxury tax to prevent rich clubs from buying titles?...nope. I am not even a huge baseball fan and baseball is way more entertaining than soccer.

there's more entertainment in watching a wet mop dry up.

soccer is still a boring sport.

considering soccer's growth in the US in recent years, I'd say you're beat in that argument as well, throw in relegation, something that no popular sport in the US knows about, and yeah, I'll still say you have no argument.

you're excited over a guy throwing a ball at 90mph (means he can take care of himself while alone quicker than you).

you're beat cuz.

To us it is just another sport. I am not saying it can't become a major sport. Golf is a major sport and its boring(unless its high level play).

you're excited over a guy throwing a ball at 90mph (means he can take care of himself while alone quicker than you).
Like I said I am not a big baseball fan. But baseball is more entertaining than soccer. What hurts more? A 100mph fastball to the face or a 100 mph soccer ball to the face? A baseball thrown that fast can kill a person. Your head is inches away from it on every at bat. Play on. What about Hockey and the ice being as hard as concrete. What would happen if your head bounces off the ice? You have to be a little insane to play pro-level hockey.
you're beat cuz.

I guess i must be in a minority because i like both football and the NFL I'm a Manchester United and Pats fan.

I think the reason the NFL doesn't do that well outside the US is because most of the people don't understand the rules.
Also comparing the NFL to football is silly they are two completely different games a better comparison would be rugby, a game i also enjoy watching.

And also saying football is played by the poorest countries due to cost is also daft, some the most poorest countries on earth don't even play football, they are massive cricket fanatics.

I don't know...Soccer to me is just boring and difficult to watch.

I seriously tried to watch it. But it is just not exciting.

Few scoring attempts,annoying flopping,low scoring,awful parity,draws.

I don't get what is so good about the sport. Getting entertained by a 0-0 draw is baffling to me.

What does soccer have?

A finesse you quite clearly don't understand and probably never will. Just accept that. If you wish to delve deeper ask yourself why the hell is football (that is it's real name) so popular across the globe. Either the whole world is mad and deluded OR you don't get it. What is more likely?

Don't confuse idiotic salaries and diving ballerinas for football. Fans hate that as well.

Now if you want to really push me :

Baseball - clearly derived from rounders a UK schoolgirls game.
Basketball - clearly derived from netball a UK schoolgirls game.
American Football - clearly derived from rugby (UK again!) but couldn't get the hang of passing backwards and didn't like getting hit!

Americans can't play?

Now, I'll admit the men at the highest level suck. ...and have for a while now.

The women on the other hand... Been dominant on the international scene for almost three decades now, with the club levels getting better all the time.

American foot ball is fun to watch. So, too, is soccer. For differing reasons. Sheer bloody minded mayhem, and artistic strategy.

The midfield play is boring and it makes up most of the game. Infrequent scoring. Deeper into what? The whole world is entertained by this slow, uneventful game.

Flopping happens all the time and its annoying.

If they just removed the draws and the flopping/dives it would make the game more watchable.

I rather watch hockey than futboolz or football.

Oh I forgot to add, the most boring sports to watch?

BASEBALL holy crap someone murder me next time I have to watch an entire baseball game.

Cricket looks similarly retardly boring, but I must admit I couldn't be bother to watch it.

Golf...

Boxing, MMA ruined it for me.

Best sport to watch?
those long distance marathons like at the olympics where the human body breaks under the demand.

IDK why I find that so interesting, I suppose it's cathartic in a way to see someone push themselves like that knowing if I did that, I might die haha.

You know that puke feeling when you run long and hard and your muscles dont respond well, crazy to see these folks push through that.
