The city of Cleveland wants the family of a 12-year-old boy shot and killed by police officers in November 2014 to cover the cost of the ambulance that took him to the hospital.
The $500 claim against the family of Tamir Rice for "ambulance advance life support" and mileage expenses was filed Wednesday in Cuyahoga County Probate Court.
Rice was shot and killed on Nov. 22, 2014 in a park on the city's West Side. A passerby noticed him playing with a replica airsoft pistol and called police.

What, Obamadontcare doesnt cover it?
Anyway this is just the system. Even CC companies are sending messages to family from deaceased people with messages saying to pay off the deceased CC debt in honor of the deceased when they cannot legaly press those family members to pay for it.
This is the same as a unpaid parking ticked for your recently deceased partner. Nothing really malicious about it but it is of course a very grimm thing i agree.

Now you are putting words into my mouth, why? Where did i say i do not have a problem with this? I said in fact that it is indeed very grimm.
You say the city murdered the boy. That will only be a legal fact if a court had decided this was a act of murder. If this has not happened then there is no murder to speak off and thus no acountablility on the city ,legaly speaking, your personal opinion has no bearing on this and neither does mine (i also agree that that boy was was wronged and court should have ruled it a murder to some degree at least). And so as long as this was not a murder in any legal term then the system will proceed as it usually will. That is what i said.

Hold on one single minute here
You guys pay directly for your ambulances?
What happens if you're poor, don't have insurance, get shot, and need an ambulance to take you to hospital?
What happens then? What happens if you can't pay the bill?
Also, what happens when a tourist gets injured and needs emergency treatment? Like, if I were to go to the US and annoy some crack dealers and get myself shot, what would happen? Would I need to pay $120,000 to get patched up? Would they just leave me to die?
I'm seriously asking, I'd love to visit the US one day but I am a bit worried about your multitude of guns and glaring lack of accessible healthcare, that seems like a bad combination.
