NASA has had a little fun and has created some "fantasy" posters touting space tourism that are in a really cool Art Deco vintage style (cool to me, at least -- I'm a huge fan of Art Deco and Art Nouveau design styles), and some that are in other newer-yet-still-vintage styles.

I included a few samples below.

The rest could be found by clicking This Link.

Dang those are really cool, I think Jupiter and Enceladus are my favorites. Would've loved to see a Saturn one. NASA always leaves me wanting more lol.

I feel a new Bioshock game coming on!

In all seriousness though, those are wonderful posters. I particularly like the Kepler 16b one! The tag line is great!

These are awesome, thanks for posting! Just in time as I'll be finishing my basement soon. I already have some art deco style movie, baseball & Chicago posters. I'm hoping these are available in high enough resolution or for purchase as poster size, because I'll definitely add a couple to the mix. (Off to check it out.)

ETA: ooh yay! Full Hi-Res downloadable, poster sizable printables!

The Titan one (follow the link in the original post) has Saturn in the sky, rising above the liquid methane lake.

If you go to the link, there are "mega" MB download TIFF files (200+ MB). Those should be hi-res enough for large prints.

Here is the link again to all of the posters:

If i was born in the future, my dream would have been to make a giant city called "Dream city" on the now dead caldera of Olympos Mons on Mars.

The views, the thrillls, the chills. Would be a great tourist attraction.

My want of more from NASA would be some humorous posters done with a LGM/UFO motif. But as I've reported before, the gift shop at the Cape has not a single item that features LGM or UFOs. I see in my mind's eye T-shirt with a big eyed, green skinned alien smiling crookedly. On his earless dome is a ball cap on it are big letters, "NASA"... just like on mine.

But noooo! I have to drive to Roswell for that.

Well, maybe not a poster or T-shirt, but there is a cartoon Martian drawing that NASA included on the Curiosity Rover. More precisely, it came from Malin Space systems (the makers of Curiosity's cameras), and is a cartoon drawing named "Joe the Martian". The cartoon alien included on an onboard calibration target for Curiosity's cameras.

Link to Source and story of "Joe the Martian":
Penny payload: NASA Mars rover Curiosity carries coin for camera checkup

The Joe the Martian character is taken from a children's science periodical, "Red Planet Connection," where it was regularly seen when Edgett directed the Mars outreach program at Arizona State University, Tempe, in the 1990s.

Joe was created earlier, as a part of Edgett's schoolwork when he was 9 years old and NASA's Viking missions, launched in 1975, inspired him to dream of becoming a Mars researcher.

"The Joe the Martian on Curiosity really is a 'thank you' from the MAHLI team to the folks who have provided us with the opportunity to study Mars, the U.S. taxpayers," Edgett said. "He's also there to encourage children around the world to set goals that will help them achieve their dreams in whatever interests they pursue."
