This is happening due to legit members being silenced, controlled, driven off

Though I must say, government is not being wise doing this, because without release valve sites like ats

In the long term, sabotaging sites like ats will create a new set of problems

It probably has more to do with the site being well moderated and ATS mods not wanting to put up with bull# just because it has a "conspiracy" label on it.

PS: Someone with an alleged 140 IQ pushing the "shills" argument? Lol, looks like internet bravado to me. I'd expect someone with a 140 IQ to have a better and more thoroughly researched answer than just "shills" to this problem.

Do you have ANY evidence or proof that this is happening? I mean, sure, people leave, but the site has MANY new members as well. And the more probable reason people leave is that they get frustrated and look for a site that appeals to them more, or they get banned, or lose interest in obeying the T&C.

For me at has been the down right shameful amount of ads (my browser got locked up with ads 5 times while trying to log in). Combine that with the cyclic degradation of post content due to election years (anyone that's been here long enough has witnessed the contrarian mindset that blames whatever political party holds the presidency) you find yourself with fewer people willing to tough it out to find those few gems of intellectual stimulation.

The bottom line is that money and ignorance is destroying ATS just like everything else.

I get the question, but I'm not really appreciating the implication that a portion of our members are shills.

We have stated hundreds of times that all you need to register for ATS is an email address. We're not doing background checks on our members. We don't want to know. We ask for decorum and civility, period.

Considering that the age old cry of "shill" can not be proven in any form based on our non-existent member information databases and knowing that inevitably this will end up with names being thrown about this thread is now closed.
