The homeowners only realised he had been under there, when his standing up and stretching the kinks out of his neck, caused a complete structural failure of the building. Ahh yeah. Well, yeah housing here is so insane that people are living in awful conditions for rents that would get you a 3 bed house in other areas of the country. I'm talking a bunk bed in a room shared with 8 people for $800-1000 a month. A studio apt in san francisco itself could run you up to $5000 a month.

We're officially the worst housing market in the country as far as price goes (beat out New York a couple months ago) and oakland is in the top 5, too.
