I mean, it felt gimmicky

Well according to this article the mini series was only brought back to get more money from Netflix during negotiations.

www.forbes.com...
while it’s exciting, the truth of the matter is this revival has nothing to do with making those fans happy. It also has nothing to do with bringing closure to the show’s loose plot threads. In fact, it doesn’t even have anything to do with Fox trying to land a giant Nielsen score upon the revival’s premiere.

No, all the X-Files reboot has to do with is a deal for the show’s exclusive streaming rights.

A revival of The X-Files means all of the show’s previous work is valuable again.

Fox doesn’t actually care that people want a new season of The X-Files, but they do care that Netflix would pay big money to stream the show exclusively

I love the X files, I watched it last night and can't wait to watch the rest tonight.

I have to admit the writers of the show have done a lot of research of famous abductions and UFO crashes.

It's interesting of how the writers gives us an alternative view of some of the famous UFO stories.

I see Anderson has gotten a face lift for the show as well. She really looks great.

It certainly could have been better, but I liked it.

I did enjoy the Michael Schratt --- ARV alien reproduction vehicle reference alleged to have happened at the November 12th 1988 Norton Air Force Base private sector contractor fair exhibit .

Just watched the series premiere of the new X-files...

Missed it due to friends and family over for football... but should (I hope) be available for watch in the next 24 hours via On Demand.

To have Scully and Mulder back is, for me... like manna from heaven.

Just watched the first 10 minutes (at Fox)... seemed more a political statement than a restoration of the original program.

Had to break away for a breath of fresh air.

Hope it doesn't become a campaign rally for anyone.

Watched the original series from episode number one.
Have every episode on disk, including both movies.

In all of those, there was never such a concentration on politics, ever.

But... gonna go back and finish the episode later tonight, hoping that it doesn't become such a heavily over-laid seasoning.

A few hours ago I watched S10E01 and it had a little too much of the mainstream conspiracy theories in it. As if the writers did their best to inform the viewers that they are briefed and up to date with the latest conspiracies. Some of the dialogs between Scully and Mulder were just terrible.

At the end...the moment when Mulder started to doubt everything and all his conclusions of the previous years of investigations was just...uhm...unreal. No, that was not what I would expect from Mulder at this stage of the game.

It was a treat to see the x-files again but was a little disappointed by the overflow of conspiracy info and some of the dialogs between Scully and Mulder. I hope the writers will find their equalibrium which will focus more on the task at hand and will not go all over the place.

Looking forward to season 10 episode 02

I read a couple weeks ago that she does not like plastic surgery and has not had any. She has a serious skin care regimen.

I'm a woman, but I think she looks great.

Hope you guys are ready for the second episode, think I'll be making my turkey sandwich with mayo, green olive, and pepperjack.

Joel McHale, that's the guy from Community. I think he's the representation of an Alex Jones type character, the conspiracy clown warning of all the impending doom; he mentioned 9/11 a lot on the show.

I remember a few years ago, there was an asteroid that was going to pass by Earth pretty close, all week long the regular programming episodes revolved around a comet or asteroid hitting the Earth. Food for thought.
