I did for years myself.

When your sense of self heals, all the strangeness goes away, unless
you keep running after it purposely, then it might stick for a lifetime..
which it seems you aren't doing, which would be good.

I don't live there but I have spent a good amount of time hiking the lost coast with my wife. I think we may have bumped into a few parties on a logging road or two.

Anyhow, beautiful place around there and pretty remote when we were there.

I know....

I wasn't inferring that it was "all in your head".

I'm 100% convinced that you saw something "real",
just like i have myself.

Might you have been the first person to see the orb
do you think? If so, that would make a world of sense.

Ahh ok.

Can you expand further on your thoughts?

There's a little town called "Albion", and a little town
called "Caspar" just north of Mendocino.. I had wanted
to retire there someday.. but I don't have that kind
of money anymore.

Very beautiful.

Makes me wonder though, if you were referring to
'3 pointed leaf parties' - lots of that up there..
and over to Willits.

;-)

It's just a near-universal pattern I've noticed with any of the
'paranormal-seeming' and close up sightings.. to be distinguished
from the usual drekk of useless mis-identifications and fantasy
wish fulfillment.

It seems to be that there are one or more 'target personalities'
which happen to be in the right place, at the right time,
perhaps with the right geography.

It actually has nothing to do with flesh and blood aliens
or nuts and bolts UFOs, which as far as I know, don't
actually exist around this planet.

It's the sort of thing that is not often repeated.. so in general
it's nothing to worry about.. unless you were to go off the
deep end and chasing after it for the majority of your life
like so many of us have.

It's not a matter of good or evil or even 'special' per se..
just part of the human experience sometimes.

Yes, my wife and I were living in Berkeley while she attended law school there and we used to hike up and down the CA coast. That stretch from Punta Gorda Lighthouse up to Klamath was pretty special to us. We made a few trips up there over 3 years and would camp at Mattole Creek as our base and go from there. She looked at a job out there recently that was pretty remote but we wound up in Seattle for other reasons. I don't know you but I might envy you being there. We will probably get down there again in the next year or so.

Sorry, don't want to derail this thread. I do know how remote it feels there and the possibilities of alien or unknown entities finding it a good place to probe and make contact / run experiments and such wouldn't surprise me. I hope you find your answers.

Do you think they were extra dimensional and not physically in this world?

A big blob of energy with bits of possibly exotic matter..
that is attracted to certain types of personalities,
especially if they are in an area that is geologically
unstable..has lots of quartz under pressure.. or any
of half a dozen things.

But I'd be a liar if I were to say I precisely understand what
such phenomena are.. I've been working on the question for
over 50 years.. and I've gotten as far as I'm going to in all
likelyhood..

Gotta run.. sleepy time.

How long was the awkward silence when the object jus stopped in its tracks, a couple seconds to a minute.

You waking up in the middle of the room could of been sleeping walking, and what could have happened to your friend would of been something along the lines of sleep walking, or sleep acting. Did he remember doing this when woke up? Sorry for the amount of questions, jus curious.

What was the colour of the orb btw.

Yeah, about 6yrs ago, we were living in San Diego while my wife taught down there. We made our way back to the Northwest after a short sting in St Paul, MN. I still miss CA from the Bay area Northward. I still have a little photo somewhere around here of the little outhouse sized post office in Honeydew( If I recall). We thought it pretty much summed it all up. Distant, sparsely populated and almost isolated. We used to hike along the Pygmy Pines near Fort Bragg, I think and dream up land and cabins we would build. Ahh, someday!

I gotta stop or I will be doing a road trip soon.

The orb was a fluorescent white.

The awkward silence may have been up to a minute but is was just so mind blowing at that time that it is hard to tell. Now would be different if be more of an oh well response.

He did. He immediately said it just happened to me too.
