Nope.
We all would like life to be perfect, and for no one to be raped, but the hard reality is, it happens...and its not likely to stop. Too many rapists out there. Women should cover up, especially at night, for their own safety.

What a load of bollox.

People need to take a harsher line with pests like that and not tolerate them in society, whatever their backgrounds.

Yes, but despite all of that,...they are out there right now doing it.

Yes, and there are men out there who like to rape other men too, but I doubt very much whether their victims were in heels and short skirts.

You know as well as I do, that a man can defend himself against another man...much better than a woman defending herself against a man.

So? What has that got to do with your statement about covering up to avoid rape?

Because if they don't cover up. They will be targets of these rapers. They are men with desires...just like you and I.They will navigate towards the most available flesh. What they see with their eyes.

I can see which women are wearing clothes that cover themselves, and women that wear a miniskirt. I know which one is more attractive, as do you. If you're trying to infer that I am a rapist, I assure you I'm not. That was a low blow from a desperate person.

I wasn't trying to infer that you are a rapist. Not at all.

Let me try again.

You repeatedly stated that you believe that how much skin is on show relates to the probability of a rapist choosing his target.

I gave you an example of a victim group that NO ONE accuses of dressing provocatively, yet are still raped.

Then you came out with some blather about a person's ability to fend off an attack which had nothing to do with your original premise. ie that it was about the sorts of clothes the victim wore.

If you re-read all of my posts, you will see how the conversation evolved.

I'm not saying dress like a ghost, like the women in this photo, but maybe cover up some, for your own safety, if for any reason.

I say the opposite. no matter how much you are covered, someone will think its still exposing too much..thats how the burka inevitably happens.

No
better idea..have mass crowds wearing as little as possible. microskirts and tiny shirts covering the bare essencials..make it soo common that its not even seen. The more they suggest covering up, the less you cover up
because its not their g-ddamn culture, nor business.

As far as the idea of, well, what do you do when you get assaulted? well, stay in public areas, go with friends, and if someone does something, get videos and you get that person imprisoned. I would also recommend getting a gun or carry a knife..depending on law/practicality. brass knuckles I hear is quite fashionable this time of year

For those who suggest it is how western women are dressed that causes the problem ie showing too much flesh its not true. Last week on BBC News an Egyptian woman was interviewed who said that 90% of women in Egypt had suffered sexual harrassment or rape and she made the point EVEN veiled women. So it is obviously more about how women are viewed by men from these cultures and to try and blame it on Western dress and perfume is once again just making excuses and appeasing these animals.

I couldnt find the interview I refer to so have instead sourced a report from 2012.

She says even women who wear the full-face veil - the niqab - are "being targeted.

"It does not make a difference at all. Most of Egyptian ladies are veiled [with a headscarf] and most of them have experienced sexual harassment.

Interviews and studies talking with serial rapists have proven you right Sprocket. The rape and the rapists' motivation has much less to do with the victim and how she/he appears and more to do with the rapist having anger issues and deviant mental problems.

I'm not sure that the Middle-East is interested in making progress on women's rights, what underlying factors do you think would have to change for women's rights to be embraced over there? Access to the internet? A better economy? More education? None of that seems to affect the Middle East's value system in the way that it progresses the West.

Sometimes it seems the only way things will change for the better for women in the extremely oppressive parts of the Muslim world is for either all the men to simultaneously drop dead or dissappear in a puff of smoke. Then the women can start over with a matriarchal, preferably religion-free society.Middle Eastern women are gorgeous,i'm sure there will be no shortage of sane, sensible men who respect women, from all over the world, willing to move there to replace the misogynistic religious-fanatic departed ones.

Well i know it seems extreme in itself this thought
but jeez somehow aside from such a scenario it doesn't look like things will ever change for the women in these draconian Muslim patriatrchal societies

European women have nobody to blame but themselves for being attacked, sexually harassed, and sexually assaulted. How dare they dress provocatively and wear perfume! This is really the mindset!

This reminds me, when are we going to get a new forum category called "Europe Burning" or something similar?

So, what do YOU think? Do women deserve what they get if they dare dress, act, and smell "provocative"?

dailycaller.com...

A Cologne imam believes 521 victims of sexual assaults in the city on New Year’s Eve have themselves to blame for being half-naked and wearing perfume.

Sami Abu-Yusuf, a cleric at a Salafist mosque in Cologne, spoke to Russian channel REN TV to explain why the unprecedented assaults happened. Abu-Yusuf said “it is not surprising the men wanted to attack them” because of their appearance.

“If they walk half-naked and use perfume, then things will happen,” Abu-Yusuf said. “A man, a woman…it’s like a splash of oil into the fire.”

Abu-Yusuf also criticized the public’s strong reaction to the assaults by saying people “need to react properly, and not add fuel to the fire.”

I wonder what that Imam would have to say about THIS as reported in Sunday Express....

A 10 year old boy was raped in a Austrian swimming pool cubicle
by an Iraqi migrant who had been in the country for 3 months.
A life guard immediately called an ambulance after the boy went to him
in tears. The Iraqi shrugged off the incidence by continuing to swim in the
pool in Vienna,

During the police interview the man defended himself by saying it was an
*emergency* as he had not had sex for four months.

The rape happened in December ... but the authorities released no
details until now to protect the boys identity.
(??)

The migrant entered the country through the Balkans in September and
had been working as a taxi driver.

He said that although he knew that such an offence was *forbidden* in any
country, he said that he was not always *sick* and had a wife and daughter
in Iraq.

Meanwhile German police in Cologne are investigating the rape of a young
woman by a migrant during a festival last week. The 22 year old waitress
had been walking home after work at 2.00am when a foreign looking man
approached her and showed her his phone with 'pornographic' images on it
She was then hit in the face and raped.

Following the incident a 17year old Afghan was arrested at a migrant camp
and was released pending enquiries. The victim told police he made it
apparent that he was showing her what he wanted from her with the images
on his phone.

On the first day of the Cologne festival there were 22 sex attacks.

I wonder if Angela Merkel is having any regrets for her impulsive open

invitation, as things are just getting worse, and this is only the beginning!

These women are going to have to take matters into their own hands and fight. We can't do it for them. It will be a part of their social evolution, and it is going mighty slowly, admittedly. But. It is what it is. They will wake up sooner or later.
