We have a 40 hour workweek with a weekend, given to us by the work of the labor unions. We all like that.
Actually that was a creation of private businesses, stolen by the unions, and forced on other businesses. And it's not global. At least I'm pretty sure you go to businesses on Saturday and Sunday, and late night on weekends. I'm sure you like that.
We have government paid for k-12 Schools for all, for free.
And they are so bad that on average a child home-schooled by a parent with a GED certificate will score 33% better than a child of public education.
We have medicaid and medicare and social security and on and on.
Like you say below, they are unsustainable. I prefer Ponzi scheme and Unconsitutional.
The problem is that it's broken and expensive and done poorly. We give social welfare (money) to corporations that already make billions.
Give money? No,they are given tax breaks and tax credits. A responsible government or business does not spend money it doesn't have.
That's broken socialism.
Actually it's cronysism.
We treat everyone medically in any emergency room in the country, but don't give them affordable pre-emtive healthcare or affordable insurance. That's broken socialism.
When you take a guy like Bernie Sanders...he's basically saying that we should fix it and make it work.
What I'm hearing is "Hey I know the government broke a perfectly good economic system with more socialism, so we want to bring in an illiterate socialist to fix it even better!"
The republicans on this thread, will tell you socialism is the work of the devil, but they don't care that we give oil companies and big banks billions of dollars while they collect their (socialist) unemployment checks,
I'm not a republicans but I laugh at your rhetoric and talking points,and point out your hypocrisy of saying that Big Oil gets non-existent handouts while the government is shoveling billions of dollars to non-functional 'green energy.'

We should try to make the American dream possible for all Americans but hard work and effort and being willing to try one's best are the essentials to make this goal possible!
Paul would try to make our country far too isolationist which, in my opinion, is simply unrealistic given the international situation we are facing today regarding Russia, China, Iran, and the global terrorist threat.
I cannot support Sanders because I firmly believe his policies of income redistribution would lead to economic disaster. Clinton would mean more Obama like policies and we've already seen just how well that has worked. She also has a serious problem with trustworthiness and is prone to scandal.
I agree with you about Trump. The less said about him the better. Jeb Bush has little or no chance to be nominated. In any event, I don't think the country wants another president named Bush!
Rubio, Christie, Kasech or Fiorena are much more solid credible candidates in my opinion, but the latter two will likely be forced to leave the race soon due to lack of sufficient funds and minimal support.

Try reading and keeping up with current events. I'm not going to send you certified copies of Sander's and Clinton's speeches, and as a practicing Attorney for many years, I know a bit about research and sources.

We did NOT have a country based on socialism during the 1950's when Eisenhower was president or during the 1960's when Kennedy was president! Although Bernie Sanders would have us believe that these years illustrated a socialistic America, nothing could be further from the truth! If this man is elected president and realizes his socialistic agenda, the United States would become a nation unrecognizable to those who cherish individual initiative and success in private sector business and enterprise.

As an avowed socialist, Sanders is totally unacceptable for our free enterprise based economy. But he is at least sincere and honest in his beliefs and has a sound moral compass.
But Hillary Clinton is a disingenuous liar and crony capitalist who endangered the security of our country with the use of her private e-mail server and called the Benghazy terrorist act in Libya a you tube video while, at the same time, she was using her position as Secretary of State to build her own private financial empire and enrich the Clinton Foundation by encouraging and accepting large donations from some of America's adversaries and enemies!
With regard to actual policies, while Sanders is clearly to the left of Clinton, the two of them are really a "Tweedle Dee Tweedle Do" pair right out of "Alice In Wonderland!" How about an independent moderate centrist. Gov. Kasich of Ohio is the best candidate out there.
