Clashes erupted late Monday in a small Dutch town during violent protests against the planned opening of a centre for asylum seekers, Dutch media and officials said.

In a repeat of scenes seen in several Dutch towns and villages since late last year amid growing tensions over record numbers of migrants, police intervened to disperse about 1,000 people who rallied in central Heesch.

Here's a vid.

Police blocked of all access roads and nobody was allowed in or out.

Well, looks like this town saved itself for now, I don't think these current plans are going to come to fruition.

Unfortunately they will probably just place more in even smaller communities that can put up less of a fight.

Things are messed up over here.

Wow , you know things are bad when the Dutch start rioting , although those involved were Geert Wilders supporters so perhaps not that surprising.
The governments of Europe are deaf to the voices of their people , with a new wave of immigration expected this year their people will no doubt make their feelings clear with direct action.

This whole open borders farce is a time bomb waiting to go up!

I can only see things getting worse

To say *things are messed up* is an understatement!

Because direct action tends to lead to the destruction of innocent peoples property , cars set light , windows broken and such like.
The only way to sway a government is through numbers , if you have a peaceful protest of 3,4,5 million people that will make more impact than a few thousand destroying stuff.

Geert Wilders is the only politician who is speaking the truth about the situation. You make it sound like there is something wrong with that party's ideology.

I support Geert Wilders and the PVV. Voted for them several times.

I am pretty sure that a large part of this town's population is grateful to the "rough" crowd for their actions, since most people now understand that peaceful protest only makes politicians laugh while they push more crap down your throat.

This would never happen in a village like Heesch, there is a great sense of identity and solidarity. The anger was aimed at the council and the police.

People are frustrated of not being heard, and are making sure that they are now.

They're a right wing party so yes I do have a problem with their ideology , Wilders is a Zionist who's party has been linked with donations from rich Zionists so I have a problem with him too.

"Jordan is Palestine," said Wilders, who heads the third-largest party in Holland. "Changing its name to Palestine will end the conflict in the Middle East and provide the Palestinians with an alternate homeland."

"If Jerusalem falls into the hands of the Muslims, Athens and Rome will be next. Thus, Jerusalem is the main front protecting the West. It is not a conflict over territory but rather an ideological battle, between the mentality of the liberated West and the ideology of Islamic barbarism," he said.

Never trust a politician.

I never said I fully trusted him.

I said that he is the only one speaking the truth about the situation. Ties to zionists or not. If he is controlled by the zionists then the Left is for sure.

Look what mess the Left wing got us in.

You say this yourself,

The governments of Europe are deaf to the voices of their people

Yes, controlled by the liberals, leftists and socialists, the people you vote for.

Once more I see reports of Dutch police harassing people who are making too much waves on the internet.

Overzealous Dutch cops and agencies , scouring the internet for dissent.

Goons of the government.

Traitors of the people.

Why don't you guys go fly a kite in lightning after you eat my shorts.

And.............its only going to get much worse this summer! I'm seeing projections to the effect that its expected that the Refugee stream will, over several years, amount to 10 million people. If you're living in that region formerly known as "Europe" I expect you'll soon find yourself referring to it as "Eurabia". Good luck!

He's using the politics of fear just like other right wing party leaders , yes there's a problem but Wilders and his kind aren't the answer.

I'm British so didn't vote for the governments experiencing problems or the European parliament robots , we're outside the schengen zone and have better control of our border.

Then what is the answer? Wilders has a played a major role in waking people up to this reality so at least he did something right.

What is your strategy? Wait and see?

Right, so easy for you to criticise rightwing sentiment from your "safe"zone.

The fact remains that you admit that there is a big problem, and the people are not being listened to. This is caused by leftwing ideology.

What if I want to immigrate?

Am not aloud too, I have to go through the proper process because I'm a documented American.

Schengen needs to be suspended and borders reinstated.
Illegal migrants should be returned to their country of origin , if it's not safe to do that they should be held until it is.
People rescued at sea trying to make the journey should be returned not brought into Europe.

We need to sort out the mess we left in Libya.

Right, so easy for you to criticise rightwing sentiment from your "safe"zone.

Safe from the current influx perhaps but we have a long history of offering asylum , we have also seen unprecedented migration from Europe , something we have no control over , in my town the second language is Polish where 10 years ago it was Urdu , we know about migration.

This is almost exactly what Wilders is saying..........

That's pretty ironic.

I know, that's why I said "safe" zone.

From the sound of your post it seems to me that you don't really see this as a positive thing.

Do you?

A little update here.

The mayor of Heesch declared a "state of emergency" in the town till the date of Februari 4, when the decision about the asylum centre is officially made.

The right to protest has been suspended.

Tomorrow evening Januari 25th at 19:00 there will be another council gathering. The mayor Marieke Moorman has said that if people still show up they will be dealt with with riot police.

It is expected that once again the town will be closed down by police blocking access roads.

Meanwhile on Facebook, organisors of protests are calling for the stepping down of the "pro The Hague"(Dutch government residence) politicians in the council.

They are also calling for another mass protest ignoring the declared "state of emrgency"

I have a feeling that tomorrow night might turn out to be a historic event for my country, perhaps even further reaching.

It feels like a Great European Revolution might be starting right here in my backyard in the provence of Noord-Brabant, the Netherlands.

Maybe I am just being overly dramatic. Let's just hope nobody gets hurt bad.

Stay tuned.
