A new group of images from Pluto, including this one below, thought to be a lump of dirty ice water...who knows? maybe it is a snail, complete with trail! Whatever, it's a great view.

More pictures at the Huff Post, (some people may have a poor reception from the video player there) I'll try to get a youtube capture at some time. Smurfy.

Cool it almost looks like a road leading to a compound , if you squint and let your eyes blurr just enough.

... or just a rock at the joint of two ice patterns.
I don't see how this could be exotic

Cool pic!

How big is it supposed to be? Is there any info on that?

Well, the object is sitting on a plain of churning nitrogen ice, so it is kind of novel.

The area in the pic is 50x 400mls with a resolution of about 77-85 metres per pixel. So perhaps less than ten miles across.

possibly a space craft.

So would that make the object like a 1/4 mile across?

how would that detail be of any difference, therefore novelty related to this pic found on Wikipedia?
isn't int simply that we see the details more precisely?

Here is a wider field of view. Several "snails." Though I've never seen a snail trail in both directions.
Right click>view for full sized.

No. At 80 m/pixel, it would make it closer to 2.75 miles across.

It's camera shy. So it's pacing back and forth.
hence the term "snail's pace"

Im curios why all the "snails" seem to be right in the middle of the "trails".

This video gives a broader explanation of what is occurring,

A snail? I thought it looked like a seal!

My guess would be that the "trails" represent boundaries of convective cells. The objects could be material which has been carried upward by them.
