Sorry but they are Muslim just moderate.
Many Christians break the ten commandments but still call themselves Christians and practice their faith.
People will integrate they have around here.

Oh and Charlie our Muslim pal on ATS has a odd drink is he not a Muslim?.

Gabbing is fine - more love, less hate.

I spent many years working with autistic children, and made some of the greatest friends I could ever wish for. It's a brilliant job (but watch out for 'burn out').

In terms of recruitment, yes fear plays a part, belonging, poverty, naivete, anomie - we could cover the sociological spectrum.
Funny, it's a similar phenomenon for hating on an entire demographic but then it's a simple 'us and them', 'divide and conquer' technique.

Keep on fighting your good fight.

ISIS and some western media are all using propaganda to make people hate each other like I said why are some falling for it?.

PROPAGANDA

Would that include Charlie Hebdo and the recent Paris shootings both in the

same year?

I see that as a reality ... not propaganda.

Couldn't agree more.

It s a reason why I tend to read less and less here.

Somehow it feels so mainstream reading here last year or so.

Yes and should be seen the same as the IRA when we had it for years TERRORISTS but what do you think are making these idiots do this? propaganda from ISIS from our media saying we all hate Muslims and want to kill them all and many here are pushing that.
Those evil twats should be hunted down but you are missing my point of this thread.
STOP painting people the same because of the actions of the few.

Well you are seeing more than me in the media ... I have not seen anywhere

reported that *WE all hate Muslims* and want to kill them all.

^^^^ Your propaganda??

What I have seen is interviews with ISIS fighters saying they aim to kill all

infidels, and beheadings of some so called infidels!!

Not mine ISIS propaganda they are using the facts that many Muslims have been killed by western made bombs and then with the rhetoric from people like Trump is not helping anyone.
Have we not seen other religious people asking for death to gays and such? you are missing the point of my rant.
I don't agree with any of the propaganda and it looks like you have made your mind up that all Muslims are fundies...

I would say that most religious people are exactly like that. Very few people are strict enough to follow every single rule of their religion one hundred percent of the time.

I have been re-reading the novel The Kite Runner - a beautifully written book about two boys growing up in Afghanistan right before and after the Taliban took over. There is one part where one of the boys has a conversation with his father about the religious extremists. The father is very annoyed at the extremists and their strict ways. He tells the boy that there is really only one great sin - theft. When you kill a person, you steal his life; when you lie to a person, you steal his access to the truth, etc. All of the other rules were stupid to him, and he didn't think Allah would really care if he had the occasional drink or pork - and he considered himself a Muslim, and he had never lived in the Western world at that point.

I personally think that this media driven situation has given a lot of people an excuse to openly spout a bigotry that was always present.

I think that a lot of the hatred towards muslims has nothing to do with the current situation with ISIS.

If you travel to North Africa or Turkey, you'll see that's more common than you might imagine. Not all Christians adhere to every facet of the bible - some only read the NT - but they still self-identify as Christians.

The ones who make me laugh are the ones who are too PC to say 'pakis', which is what I reckon they want to say, so they use 'Muslims' as a euphemism.

The irony.

The media is pushing this also and some are falling for it lapping it up and frankly I thought better of folk here.
I thought we were the ones who didn't fall for the mainstream media pushing us all apart wanting us to kill each other...

100% agreed.

The propaganda has worked its evil magic on our community.

So much so I have actually registered on a different forum for the first time in years and years.

To add to the media poison there are a few members on here posting their xenaphobic hate in any thread deemed relevant. Usually it's something like "Yeah, kill all the dirty animals" - usually in response to a rubbish video created as propaganda which is taken seriously. 5 years ago our members wouldn't have taken these videos seriously.

But then again, five years ago our members were looking out for UFOs, ghosts and meteors... ATS has changed.

The problem is that a flood of refugees were allowed in who came from a culture where women are property, and they tend to treat women who behave as Western women do the way we see. And to compound that, the refugees who came were not mainly families or women and children but young men of military age who came without their wives.

This increases the chances for bad behavior.

And then when the bad behavior happens, instead of leading, the leadership of the countries in question instead try to pretend there is no problem or, even worse, blame Western women which is something we have all been very trained that one should never do. People treat that like a betrayal.

This is an extraordinarily bad setup all the way around. If you can't see that ... I can't help you.

Not to mention, it has been a problem for your community for a while, or have you forgotten Rotherham?

It is really good to see there are still some people here who distinguish.

I stayed away from those ever same discussions for the last two days, because they make no sense at all.
Some members just enjoy themselves by repeating again and again the same hate speech, others jump into a discussion on page 21 telling things, that have already been closed a few pages before. The other thing is that people are often not able to understand when one agrees with them partly - it's all or nothing.

But I am glad that I still came to take a look to see this "rant", which is more a call for human sense to me.

Yes and it was wrongly dealt with but we have pedo gangs and groomers from all races over here and should be dealt with.
But the actions of those few do not mean they all do it.

Also I go off this recently following the refugees.

Agreed. The problem here is the large majority (once more) actually committing these atrocities "are of muslim faith".

We've read it a hundred times. "Not all muslims are terrorists, however, most terrorists are muslim"...

And there lies the problem your sentence is missing a couple of words , it should read :

"Not all muslims are terrorists, however, most terrorists at present are fundamentalist muslim"...

To be more complete you could add :

In the past we had western terrorist groups like IRA , UDA , KKK , RAF , ETA , in the future who knows.

I agree I dont believe western muslims are the problem but the muslims coming from countries where a more extreme form of islam is followed.

Unfortunately here in the UK in recent years we have let more and more of these radicals in and Saudi Arabia has ploughed money into half of the mosques. The vulnerable western moderatemuslims, mainly young people are being radicalised in these mosques and then online and are then either going to join ISIS or trying to carry out atrocities here. However, the more westerners are radicalised the more that is spreading like cancer.

I dont really know how the government are going to stop this but a good starting point would be to stop allowing radicals into university. Such as this week a guy has been lecturing how it is OK to beat wives.

The moderate muslims need to start rooting out the problem mosques as well without being afraid such as the guy who spoke to Katie Hopkins.

They need to also deal with the Corbyn crew who are doing everything in their power to stop thimgs like Prevent.ra reply to: markosity1973

Yes I know we will have problems but from a small minority most will be happy that we are helping.
We gotta show our what our values are and what our morals are and people will learn to love our way of life as much as us.
Treat folk right and they will treat us the same it really is simple.
It is hard though when religious extremism can use freedom of speech as a tool we just gotta educate people against it.
Mock them laugh at them show the people who they are attempting to preach to that their ways is wrong and yes it does take the community to band together and stop it.
