This Morning...

I awoke this morning,
With one pair of eyelids gummed shut,
By a thick layer,
Of the thickest eyeball snot,
And when swept clear,
And open,
I found my eyeball bloodshot,
Pressure grows,
Around my ear nose and throat,
And mucus flows,
Without any relent,
I am cold,
I am tired,
I am well spent.

Rub yourself down with some Vick's Vaporub and crawl back under the sheets my friend ! I'd send you a big batch of homemade chicken noodle soup, but I suspect that by the time it reached you across the pond... well, pond scum would be growing on the top of it.

True, my friend, I'm sorry that your morning has been rough...
But I'm sure you'll rally though cuz you're a guy...a guy who's tough.

But it does sound like the "man flu", and I know that's really bad...
So the details of your illness here, have made me rather sad.

I hope you get the rest that's needed, and sleep peacefully tonight...

Lady, I never burn the candle at both ends. That would be highly inefficient. Perhaps, however, it is more the case, that my wick has been dipped in Greek fire, and its flame only dims, but never snuffs.

Going to hit this thing with the old vapour rub, and hope that shifts something while I sleep. Knowing my luck, the resultant outflow will have me stuck to my bed tomorrow morning, but better out than in!
