I hate to be a party popper but she's a he. Originally they wanted him to be a her but soon realized people always associated droids with the masculine. Can you think of a female droid in the Star Wars universe? I've only watched these 7 films and read one expanded universe book, which Chewie died in by a Moon falling on him (I think).

I don't think she would be Obi's kid because Jedi's weren't allowed to marry or have sex. Luke put an end to that nonsense once he started the school back up.

I've seen the theory running around the Rey is also the reincarnation of Anakin thus furthering the idea of the "Chosen One" to bring balance to the force. She gets a new lifetime in which to do that be destroying the Sith once and for all.

been looking on amazon and goodreads but it is not helping me too much.

All the books you just listed no longer are part of the Star Wars cannon, they are not to be considered part of the lore or mythology and are not going to be referenced in the upcoming films.

There was a huge canon built up for what had happened after the movies, particularly in Europe. With the sale of Lucasfilm to Disney, all of that was scrapped so that none of the news films had to be bound by any of that story.

Imagine Spider-Man movies that didn't have to worry about anything in the comics is sort of the idea because that's how deep some of the existing canon had gotten.

I read the Thrawn books but did not like the ending. I have read the novelization of all the films as well.

If you haven't read the Timothy Zahn trilogy with Grand Admiral Thrawn in it that takes place after the original movies,I'd suggest that one. Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising and The Last Command.
