If ATS were a bar... I'd never be there. Rarely drink except holidays/ special occasions, and rarely leave the house unless I have to. In a room full of conspiracy theorists I would be the wall flower listening to opinions and debates but rarely speaking. Just as here, I read but rarely post. I DO have strong opinions on a few topics but have learned that even here, if you don't follow the mainstream trains of thought you can be an outcast. It's sometimes better to keeps ones mouth shut, online and off. Not to say that I cannot be social in a certain setting when it calls for it...but it takes all my energy to do so.

I wonder what you're like in real life? I wonder why you're here? I wonder how many of you say the things you say on line, in real life? I wonder why, of all the places you could post, why here? I wonder, if ATS was a bar, would you go there? I wonder if this place has changed any of your lives?

I wonder these things as a long time reader and a people watcher. I have really come to admire some of you. I wonder if we are more alike than different?

My real life is somewhat imploding/morphing/changing so it's easy to be distracted by the Animal Farm that is ATS. Thanks for the diversion.

I am just like this in real life. I don't feel the need to present a source on everything I say in real life, but I say the same things.
On occasion, I find myself answering like Phage, just because it WORKS. Even in an argument in real life haha.

If ATS was a bar, I would probably go there, but I might also get kicked out. If I was confronted face to face with some of the bigotry I see on here I might throw a drink at a fee people. I would probably end up 'behind the bar with the progressive kids', as one poster already said.

I believe I found this place looking for my favorite topic: CHEMTRAILS, lol. I lurked long before joining, the other conspiracy sites were pretty silly and my Facebook friends do not have the level of interest in these topics that I do, though they patronize me once in awhile and actually go and look at a link from here I have posted and like/comment on it.

I really like how the site is set up and the variety of topics to discuss and just peruse. I like reading about things like possible cannibalism in SHTF situations in I think, survival forum LOL. I can very quickly find here what takes me 2 hours to find "That weird part of Youtube" one ends up in after too much random browsing. I try to stick to actual posting about things I have some knowledge about.

I like most of the people here, even those I disagree with. I just could not see myself interacting for longer than 10 minutes on a place like BIN.

It's a great distraction and place to exercise my brain in a busy life

T. gondii?

I'm pretty sure it is.

I'm not sure whether to laugh or not. Because I have it. It my right eye. In remission. I have seen the recent article about it maybe having 'an agenda'. I emailed one of the scientists that did recent work on it, we had a good discussion. My own doctor,a macula specialist, looked at me like I was nuts for having brought that data up lol.

Fun.

I wonder why you're here?

The paycheck.

I wonder how many of you say the things you say on line, in real life?

I do and then some (no T&C in real life).

I wonder why, of all the places you could post, why here?

See above.

I wonder, if ATS was a bar, would you go there?

Are you buying?

I wonder if this place has changed any of your lives?

Yes, I am even less saner.

I don't go to bars or really any place people gather if I can help it. If it was ATS, I might make an attempt. You'd find me in the rear of the place, in a quiet corner so I can watch everyone.

So, what's going on with your life? I can't tell if you mean it's positive or negative. Is it a little of both. Anything you need to vent about?

Same here. Back of the bar, watching. Strangely, I'm either a shy extrovert or a confident introvert, sounds weird I know. I'm not afraid to put myself out there, I just can't be bothered. Maybe I just haven't found the right niche group or something? I think ATS may be as close as it gets.

As for my drama, you are sweet to ask. It's all so cliche - suburban, gen x, marital crisis with difficult kids. One of those bizarre situations where you feel like an asshole for being unhappy because, really, you should feel blessed.
I mean, in the scheme of things is any of it really so awful? Then why such turmoil and strife? It's stupid.

More beer please.

I forgot to add that even though I drink, I rarely get drunk. Getting drunk invites a migraine along with the hangover the next day and that is a unique and terrible punishment I have only risked a very few times in my life.

ugly spite festival with stalkers, trolls, disinfo specialist, pencil neck geeks, buffoons and fools....there's also a negative side.

It's ironic that, in every relationship - ATS included I guess - it's the outrageous stuff that we sometimes cherish the most in retrospect. Stalkers? Had one already.

I find that hard to believe! You're so sweet. I bet when you do curse IRL it shocks some people.

You get the frank, outgoing me here.

I imagine you as frank, no mater what. I'm like that. Sometimes it puts people off but I can't be any other way. In the long run, in a mostly vapid world, people come to appreciate it because they know where you stand. I'm with you on the trivia, I love it. I have a head for useless facts and bar trivia may well be my only talent. Mixed drinks? Nooooo. I get too flirty and hurt the next day as there is no worse kind of hangover for me.

I also believe I would always leave long before closing time, because the conversations would end up being quashed by loud talkers and fights between politician-lovers as the night wore on. Signature drinks would all be named for conspiracies. I'll close my long post with a few recipes.

Men In Black: Jack, Johnny, José, Kahlua on the rocks. (The kahlua helps make it darker/black, and its on the rocks cuz it's cold as ice, like MIBs.)

Deep Throat: Goldschlager - even worse, you have to gargle it, "deep in your throat" - this should cause a coughing / possible puking fit, which will result in your voice sounding disguised for the rest of the night.

The Jack Ruby - Simply Jack Daniel's with grenadine for the "Ruby" tint.

Area 151 - Bailey's with a Bacardi 151 floater. The Bailey's represents the brown, barren ground obfuscating the hidden/invisible 151. The "area" part of the name indicates that it is intended to be ordered in multiples, as a group (area) shot.

I could go on, but I'll save it.

ALWAYS leave them want ing more, right?

Love the drinks thing, that would make a fun thread. Especially if you videoed it with a few taste-testers.

Somebody told me once that I have a face that says, "I'm a quiet guy but you will respect me." I think that's about right.
So it sounds like a midlife crisis of some kind. Life is feeling stagnant?

Trying to imagine the ATS bar....LOL!

I just let my imagination paint it - Now, I think you'd find me trying to get a dart or pool game going, as a way of opening dialogue.

But I saw myself when I was younger, twenties and thirties... I am sure I would drink too much, and strike up crazy loud conversations with the wierdest people in the bar, and probably pull together a group to go hunting for Big Foot, or UFO watching at two AM. I'd carry the vodka and leave my shoes in the bar.
Some of my girlfriends would probably pull me aside and tell me it was a bad idea and the guys looked questionable, and I'd wave them off and continue.

I realized that in my answer I truly only focused on one aspect...sometimers disease kicked in, sorry.

In real life...I'm boring as hell. My life revolves around my family. ATS is my social outlet, as well as fb, and pinterest. Pinterest is a highly recommended addiction btw, but not for socializing. I love to research any random thing my heart desires, conspiracy related or not. I watch movies with my spouse almost every night, and I'm usually up before the sun every morning. If I had one desire, it would be to go completely off grid. But so many say that, and truly don't understand the concept, or the sacrifices. At least I'd be willing to give it my best shot.
Why am I here? An itch I can never fully scratch I guess. I had questions, and here were the answers. That led to more questions...which led to discussions, debates, friendships...and 9 years later...I'm still here. I have tried other conspiracy sites..but I love everything about this place. It just resonates with me on a level like no other.
Has this place changed my life? Unbelievably in every way possible, but in every positive way. As for ATS as a bar...beware of MODS offering free drinks.

My dilemma with alcohol is that I don't like beer and carbonated drinks taste funky due to medication.

I tend to like wines, hard ciders, but shots are just more powerful that I like. I love margaritas on the rocks, especially when you get the really prime stuff in them and a good long island iced tea always hits the spot or if I'm looking to go quick and dirty, the killer Kool-Aid will always hit hard and fast. So mixed drinks are what I can do especially if I'm looking to get buzzed quick.

However, I have recently discovered that certain stouts are drinkable. Go figure. Most ladies steer clear of the stouts.

Unlike the days of my wild youth, I rarely drink myself. I might have a couple on holidays or for a birthday or some special occasion. You could always have a soda with lemon.
. Many times I have gone against the mainstream opinion on something. Your opinion matters as much as anyone else's. Just think, you might say something and get a lot of stars because someone actually feels exactly as you do. They just don't post their opinions because they too feel they will be an outcast. So jump in and don't worry!

I do agree though in some cases it is best not to say anything at all.

Yeah, I don't drink often.

Husband and I do usually have a 6-pack of Angry Orchard hanging around because we might each have one with our supper on the occasion evening, but it's not a regularity at all, more like an afterthought.

I also very occasionally get to have a drink with my dinner.

However, we both watch the alcohol. Since my husband has that Native American blood and knows he tends to have obsessive/addictive tendencies with things from time to time, we take pains not to make it too regular a part of our lives.

Trying to imagine the ATS bar.

The place would be shaped like a UFO and have plaster casts of Bigfoot on the walls, along with stuffed Chupcabras and reptroids. There might be a room off somewhere away from the noise where people can go deal with the other kind of spirits. Through out the place there might be people on the lookout for Big Brother and men in black.
How did I do?

Im here for the like minded people. And the fact that most members "feel" change is coming and ATS will be the place to connect the dots..........

That and the honesty in most members.

Also I'm a geek, and understand some pretty heavy tech, and every now and then....... Like showing off
