The American Military has certainly deteriorated under President Obama! This is the only part of the article that I agree with, Cavtrooper, but it is certainly the most important as there is so much at stake for the country given the ever increasing strength of Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea.

The last thing America needs today is a weakened military in a dangerous and uncertain world!

I am married to a vet who suffers from crippling PTSD, sometimes to the extreme.... I am as much his "case manager" as his wife. I believe sending our youngest and strongest out there is absolute lunacy, and I don't care how much they "want" to go. It's insane.

Try taking a look at Dirty Wars. If you're a good reader with a decent attention span and ability to read non-fiction, you could learn a lot (not that you don't already know it; just saying).

I would be happiest if our military was reduced in size sufficiently to simply defend our own perimeter. A military strong enough to envelope our borders and coasts, and staying the hell OUT of other countries' business.

We do NOT have to be the world's mom and dad and cop and posse. Screw that.

That is all fine and good, but the bottom line is that actual dollars allocated notwithstanding, we now have significantly less bombers, less warships, less submarines, and a deteriorating nuclear triad resulting from lack of proper maintenance.

All of this while China is now nearly in possession of the ability to fire a nuclear missile from China itself that is capable of reaching all of our major industrial centers and cities, and Russia is continuing to add to its own nuclear arsenal.

Furthermore, even N. Korea is quickly becoming a real threat as is the ever more powerful Iran.

All of this was documented in detail on both CNN as well as on Fox in recent nationally broadcast televised newscasts.

Not asking you to agree to anything, Buz! And I don't have to apologize for anything concerning Israel as their accomplishments in medicine , prescription drugs, and intelligence cooperation speak for themselves. Nor am I a warmonger. Fact is, I hate war!!

c'mon cav.....really?....we are spending close to 700 billion dollars a year on the military. this is hardly the end of the "American warrior culture".....the top 8 countries in the world combined, don't spend as much as we do on the military....maybe if this part of the military spending was cut, if would help....

Despite the dollars spent, there is no question our military has weakened relative to our major world adversaries, Russia and China, during Obama's presidency. But as I stated previously, I am not in accord with the balance of Cavtrooper's cited article.

I don't care if Israel "exists", or where it "exists." Seems to me they should move to somewhere less hostile and difficult. I don't care where they exist. It's not my job or concern. I am an American, and owe NO allegiance to Israel. Sorry. If they are our "best friend and ally", they make a piss-poor one.

If my town or city or state was being attacked, I'd simply move. As it is, they are illegally occupying the homes and territory of those people who were there FIRST.
