Most of these stories are careful to only mention military spending on certain projects, and never military spending as a whole. They look at troop numbers and other measures that don’t reflect total military spending. And it’s not surprising that total military spending is never mentioned. Because, if it were, it would quickly become apparent that military spending is in fact near historic highs, and above the levels of spending that occurred under Ronald Reagan during his own Cold War buildup. So, if you are worried about military spending, you can rest easy. Nor is there any cause for alarm in the wake of the most recent budget deal approved by Republican leaders and Obama. There will be nothing but budget increases over the next two years:

The American Military has certainly deteriorated under President Obama! This is the only part of the article that I agree with, Cavtrooper, but it is certainly the most important as there is so much at stake for the country given the ever increasing strength of Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea.
The last thing America needs today is a weakened military in a dangerous and uncertain world!

That is all fine and good, but the bottom line is that actual dollars allocated notwithstanding, we now have significantly less bombers, less warships, less submarines, and a deteriorating nuclear triad resulting from lack of proper maintenance.
All of this while China is now nearly in possession of the ability to fire a nuclear missile from China itself that is capable of reaching all of our major industrial centers and cities, and Russia is continuing to add to its own nuclear arsenal.
Furthermore, even N. Korea is quickly becoming a real threat as is the ever more powerful Iran.
All of this was documented in detail on both CNN as well as on Fox in recent nationally broadcast televised newscasts.

I'm sure you watched the documentaries and, if not, they are often repeated. Please understand I'm not looking for either your approval or asking that you agree with my conclusions. I do my own research and form my own opinions. You are free to do the same.

Despite the dollars spent, there is no question our military has weakened relative to our major world adversaries, Russia and China, during Obama's presidency. But as I stated previously, I am not in accord with the balance of Cavtrooper's cited article.
And I don't have to apologize for anything concerning Israel
.. as their accomplishments in medicine , prescription drugs, and intelligence cooperation speak for themselves.
Nor am I a warmonger. Fact is, I hate war!!
