I have a problem with my side. It all started last year when it started to hurt. I would get this sharp pain that would not go away. When I mean sharp pain I mean I almost passed out and I have a verry high tolerence for pain. So, I went to the doctors and had so many tests performed such as cat scans, MRIs, Ultra sounds, and many many more. I was not able to finish my cross-country season last year. I am only 16 I run cross-country, lift weights, and play on a varsity softball high school team, and I play ASA softball during the summer time. I dont believe that it is because of my participation in sports. And I noticed that it is starting to come back and I dont know why. Does anyone have an idea to what it could be??

Could be kidney stones that are passing through
which side is it on?

Try cleaning your liver and colon out. Get a colonic at the hospital. Buy colon cleans in GNC.

Do you drink alot of booze?

Drink warm water with half a lemon squeezed into it every morning.

It could just be bad posture. I suffer from pains on my side, but to a lesser degree then you described. Or it could be even more sinister. Have you ever had any Alien encounters???

If your doctors dont know then how should we? Try going to another Doctor and get a second opinion is the best advice I can give you.

There are 2 ways of looking at it.

1 Its all in your head ie psychosomatic

2 Its all in your doctors head ie: they don't know

Answer: see a specialist.

As your 16 it could be a part of growing physically, as kids grow very fast at that age. But its worth getting checked, and not by some quack herballist either.

Abraham,
no I have not had a encounter or at least I think that I havent?
When I have this pain it is a sharp pain and when I get it I am not able to move verry much. I have seen other doctors about this pain and they have checked for any possible kidney, and gall stones. Im not one to complain about pain either belive me.

This is the best advice. My advice is for you to take it.

The doctors must have given you some kind of explanation for the pains. If they did not then keep going back until you find one that does.

The members here have the best intentions but to my knowledge, none of them are medical doctors.

Another remote possibility is testicular hydrocele, they can test for that by doing an ultrasound on your nether region. Ask your doctor to give you a testicular exam if he/she hasn't already. Like everyone else has said, there is no way for any of us to know, no matter how much medical training & experience we may have.

Let us know what it is, once you figure it out.

Sometimes I get that pain you speak of when I sit at the computer too long. The pain may not be as bad as you described it but nonetheless it still hurts. I would also try seeing a chiropractor. I would also try doing sit-ups regularly, so as long as you are not having the pains that is.

(Just one man's opinion, nothing to take seriously.)

I used to get the same pain...only when running. Not sure how exactly (I was younger, about your age), and it was related to a heart murmur that I didn't know I had. Have the docs check your heart.
