Yes because it finally put to rest years of debate and then we could try to all get along. Humans and aliens, should that be possible. I also think it would allow for us to advance as civilisation.

Well, my answer is YES, DEFINATELY! The ET's should definately make themselves known to the world, after all they have been coming here for thousands of years.

In fact, when you think about it, they have already made themselves known to us. Back in the early 1900's, when they opened up a pyramid, there were pictures on the walls showing what we would call slaves building the pyramids. But parked up next to them watching were UFO's and people in sort of suits with helmets on. The ancient egyptians didn't know about sci-fi in those days did they so they must have been there for them to have been painted etc. So maybe the ET's are not too afraid to show themselves publicly but maybe worried what our more advanced civilisation might do or try to do to them.

Also, look at the movie Hangar 18. That was based on a true story and Independance Day was initially going to get help from the US Government but they declined to get involved when the producers said they were going to spill the beans about Area 51.

Then you can look at the Disclosure Project. 400 government and military witnesses telling all even in front of congress.

The time will come very soon I think when all will be revealed. The US Government are making themselves look like complete arseholes by still denying things when the evidence is right in front of us, everywhere.

For GODS SAKE, lets start the ball rolling! We had aircraft like the SR71 back in the sixties, don't tell me we haven't advanced a little in the last 45 years?

The people of the world aren't going to run around like headless chickens going mad and killing each other just because their religion and version of the bible doesn't talk about Mr Grey from Planet wherever!

Everybody has the right to know, sorry for going on about it but it's important to humankind to have some free energy, cancer curing handheld devices, flying cars etc.

I'll stick with a yes for the same reason many are telling here. The truth should be revealed if they're here(if they exist).But about the consequenses? That everyone, is something unknown. These aliens might bring catasrophic results to our planet, as some have said, and I really doubt they'll help us either. They will probably scare the sh*t out of humans and I can guess that many will sit with a gun in their hand at night ready to shoot(or carry guns all day ready to shoot).

Man i feel sorry for some of you guys. If i was to tell you in the next 5 years are goverment would come clean wtih aliens cough* fallen angels, How would that make you feel? You guys would go along with anything are leaders say about them. Weather they created us, or told us things that would ruin alot of peoples faith. Is there any deleterous effect of them dropping by?
Radiation? Unhealthy burbles of the space-time of the Universe?

If they are coming by and there are no real risks, I hope they drop by and give me some new technology that i can take commercial advantage of first before they go public.

I hope that their appearance wouldn't have any severe social, economic, political, religious repercussions. That really is a tricky one in my mind. Probably the majority of Earth's religions would have to re-configure themselves or disappear. What about all the sudden changes in the economy? Somethings become worthless, others soar in value. Who can predict? What about which countries they decide to contact first? National Jealousies?

Practically speaking doesn't everyone have some kind of agenda? Wouldn't that most likely include the Aliens?
They might have benign motivations and highly intelligent actions that were minimally disruptive, but that is the best of the best scenarios i can think of. This is the technologically advanced Angels/Saints idea.

More likely they would have mid-range motives [or worse] since there might not be any restraints on their motives or actions other than logic. Of course if they are that logical they probably have fewer needs and don't have much use for us.

They may already be around and simply see us as play toys. To be manipulated for their entertainment. [Do Aliens have a sense of humor? Do you think Aliens laugh? If so i wonder what it sounds like?] Do they do things to alter their states of conciousness? Maybe they play with us like pulling a string for your cat to chase and pounce on. Of course that is if they treat us as favorably as pets. Maybe we are just a kind of intellectual feed for them. Maybe we are just advanced cockroaches to them. Question is, would/do they want to exterminate us?

Probably they mostly ignore us as long as we don't cause too much problem, and quietly, unaware to us, take what ever they need and want. Probably what they have always done, and probably continue to do.

Correction: We(humans) would advance in military technologi to save our butts from the aliens. BTW, do aliens like butts? Just joking.......

They can't show themselves.........they don't exisit. If the did and are so advance with techology etc, they would have shown themselves publically a long time ago without all the cloak and danger stuff.

What an opinion....... You got any proof they don't exist? If you came to a planet where the most intelligent inhabitants kill each other on a daily basis, would you show yourself? Let them know your race is there? They probably get scared and try to kill you all of their planet and other planets tyou exist on-if they could.....
