What would happen if undeniable proof existed?

Say something as drastic as a UFO landing on the White House lawn happened. How would the public react to it assuming the government couldn't explain it away? Do you think there would be nationwide panic as the popular theory goes or do you think mankind would be thrust into a new age of understanding assuming they're friendly?

Assuming the government is not already in contact with beings from somewhere other then Earth, I think the nations of the world would automatically recognize them as a threat. I would hope that we would not be hostile, but given human nature I don't think we could expect anything less.

Well, it might happen that we react on their presence as Inhabitants of Adaman Island react on us... Many people with religious backgroud would consider it as a threat to their believes, many others would get angy because of thousand diiferent reasons.
But for a lot of people nowing the truth would be big relief .
Of course it depends on the way how the BIG EVIDENCE would be presented

If a space ship landed on the white house lawn, it would shock the world, but I dont think it would be enough to stop the entire world from functioning, at least not immediately. People would still go to work the next day, but over time it would become unsettling, and people would eventually snap.

I would have less fear of them compared to the fear I have of Man, Currenltly, were killing each other and most other life on this planet.. How could it get any worse?

What would happen if there was proof of their existence? Well all of the End Timers would come out of the woodwork declaring the world is giong to end. I also think the Cath. church would have a s..t fit because it would go against their teaching of there being only one true God. I would also dare to say that the U.S. would be thrown into a civil war. I think the world as we know it would sort of melt down unless the visitors were able to prevent it. May if there is life elsewhere similar to our world maybe they could show us what happened to their civilization so we could prevent the samething from happening to us.Depending on wether or not Martha is out of jail, she might decide to offer up a home cooked meal to make our visitors feel at home.

I don't think it would be much of a problem for a lot of the Christian fundies who would just claim that they are gods creatures too
The ones that would really worry would be the governments of the world that hold all the power. The sudden realisation that there are others more advanced and more powerful would be rather unsettling and surely be viewed as a threat to their power over us all.

Hey, maybe it would be a good thing and help bring us all together and end a lot of current wars. Life would go on though and we'd then find other unanswered questions to occupy our minds.... tick that one off the list.

Ok but why would it land on the white house lawn. I could just land on my lawn or in times square or in piccadilly circus or in front of the taj mahal. Why is it allways have to be the white house.

Landing on the White House lawn would show a sign of superiority against the world's top super power by rendering the U.S. capital defenseless by easily getting through restricted airspace unharmed. I guess you could consider it making a grand entrance.

If the aliens really want to show themselves, then there is nothing the government could do and the truth will be known once for good. But if a ufo lands in front of White House and then leaves, i think they are really capable of covering the incident, and this by all the means necessary. Just look at the history and see how freaky effective the ufo cover-up can be.

Religion,the Goverment, Both will have to address this now.. what is real?, It will come down to each of us to determine what the big picture really is, currently both ends of this question fail to answer that... Again I fear man over any other force that could stop our Butt backwards way of living...

They would probably never land on white house land. Somewhere in a rural area would be more likely. More subtlety... Just my guess

The White House would be a great place to land because of all the tourists that will capture it on thier video recorders and cameras.

Well, I don't think there is any real way to answer that. You could say that the world would freak out and religion and government would crumble. Or you could say that religion and government will rise to new heights of power, since people will look to someone or something for guidance and protection. The proof isn't the real issue though is it? It's the kind of proof that really matters. I mean, if we had a spaceship land, aliens come out and say hi, then leave just as quickly as they came, then life will not change that much overall. But if legions of races of aliens come and begin to inhabit our planet, then everything we know will change. It's really such a broad series of "what ifs". But, I guess we will continue to speculate to our wildest imaginations till the day something actually happens. Then we can say, "oh, that's how it is"

The stock market would go down, looney bins and mental hospital admissions and church attendance would go up. i would guess alot of wars would end, as we would consider ourselves not as chinese, americans, canadians, israelis,ect., but People of Earth...who knows

Vertu, They are behide on their payments to me... My address has not change. I don't think the rumour would change.. It would be here, once that changes, then yes a fading affect will come into play. As far as a business to kill with new Tech-Weapons.. Were really doing well with what we have.... Are we behide on killing this year? I don't think so.
Their current presence and where they choose to be seen tells me, look here Boneheads, here is your threat, and there are many! Get on with saving this Planet... Currently your failing Big Time, by a choice of a few.
We continue to kill/or realize it by world forces... for a near pointless reason as a result of not taking notice.
Undeniable Proof does exist, its just depends on how you look at it.
Know this of me, if I were to realize there was a threat that were to occure that would harm you, as a Human being, I would try to make you aware of that as well as within my power to prevent it from coming true... I don't need to see you personally to do it, thats just the kind of a friend I want to be.

What would happen if they had a religion almost the same as one of ours? What if they had a Torah complete with ten commandments, a Jesus with a similar history and teachings etc. Would that prove religion? Would God allow that to happen...just wondering.

That moment in time to hear/see a different realization...would cause everyone to seek a new understanding, we would look at the Universe beyound our own current Concept, and realize a little more that may make a difference in our lives...

Well, if there were any kind of indisputable evidence for the existernce of extraterrestrial intelligences ("Spaceship Guys") on Earth, all the skeptics like me would probably believe it, inasmuch as we couldn't very well dispute indisputable evidence.

But until we do have evidence like that, most of us aren't going to believe in the Spaceship Guys because (obviously) there's no evidence.

As to how we'd react, I suppose it would depend on how we perceived the Spaceship Guys, which in turn would be based on what kind of actions they engaged in.
