Mods: if this against T&Cs I am happy for it to be taken down and apologise. I am pretty sure acceptable use as a small avatar is not breaking DMCA.

I was browsing the net for a cool alien avatar. I found 9, sized/cropped them and chose one for myself. I thought I'd offer the other 8 on ATS for members that don't know how to size and crop graphics.

First come first served. Post which one you want and I will pm you with a download link. You need to upload the image to you personal folder in ATS. Once uploaded click on the image then click on the blank square at the end which will place the image as your background. I will also send a suggested font colour for your username and stats.

Aliens always frown or growl or something. Any smiley aliens out there?

I prefer my benefactors to be benevolent.

Not that I play avatars, my mood is iconoclastic.

In my op I offered them to members that don't know how to use graphic programmes. I did not make them specifically for other people, just sharing the ones I didn't want.

I agree anyone with the skills can copy and cut the image out but the resolution is not going to be the same at 200x440px.

I have used PhotoImpact for years (didn't like Paint Shop Pro). I switched to Linux recently and my avatar task is just part of getting the feel for GIMP. PhotoImpact works with Wine but only offers their extension (.ufo)

Lol, missed the mark. I'd show a pic of me, but thats stupid. Wearing a mask in public is deceptive. And I bash icons.

ET? No bigger icon exists.

Just my opinion, I prefer content to personages.

Of course...I understand. In fact, I did use Paint Shop Pro to resize, saturate, contrast....just to show it. Took me like...90 seconds or so.

There are so many programs now...even windows editing itself..anyone can do it.

Great finds and good to see your willing to help others with them!

Hey deliberator!

There is a whole thread for avatars, and it would be awesome to link or post your avatars there, as well.

Here is the link: www.abovetopsecret.com...

Folks there volunteer to help create avi's for ATS, and if you like doing that, they would love to meet you.

peace,
AB

Thanks for the offer. I have bookmarked the thread. It gives me an excuse to play around with GIMP in Linux.

Hi, I looked at the thread. It states for artists. I am not the artist in the avatars above.

How different is GIMP from PhotoImpact? I lost my PI disc before I got my new laptop, but I don't wanna rebuy the program since I know I'll find it at some point, but I was wondering about what to use in the interim. I added 2 other photo programs from discs I found but they don't do as much as PI.
