I would like to ask if Stanton has ever shown any evidence of actually being a nuclear physicist. Any evidence of employment with any of these companies he claims to have worked for?

I have never seen any as far as I recall, and I believe he left the field some time ago.

But he is a very prominent researcher, who has been around since nearly the genesis of the "movement", and he seems to mention it in most interviews he has given, so I would guess it is true, as it would have come out by now I assure you.

This is not the British Establishment paedophile coverup - we would know if Stanton was lying about what he had for breakfast, such is the world of UFO's, remember attacking the character of the person has historically been the approach to discredit witness's and researchers.

Also he does/did an " Ask me anything" Event here on ATS, I would hope they would have double checked his work history before engaging him.

He is quirky, but I have always liked him to be honest.

The man's credentials are legitimate.
It's cringeworthy that you even ask the question.
Your avatar is also... Sheesh.

Yes he is legit, worked on top secret nuclear projects
for GE and the like in the 60-70's.

Does his ethnicity have anything to do with
the disbelief ? Or is this purely a Bob Lazar vs Stan Freidman
credential match ?

I don't mean these questions sarcastically,
just curious.

Stanton Friedman Bio

Nuclear Physicist-Lecturer Stanton T. Friedman received his BSc. and MSc. Degrees in physics from the University of Chicago in 1955 and 1956. He was employed for 14 years as a nuclear physicist by such companies as GE, GM, Westinghouse, TRW Systems, Aerojet General Nucleonics, and McDonnell Douglas working in such highly advanced, classified, eventually cancelled programs as nuclear aircraft, fission and fusion rockets, and various compact nuclear powerplants for space and terrestrial applications.

He became interested in UFOs in 1958, and since 1967 has lectured about them at more than 600 colleges and 100 professional groups in 50 U.S. states, 10 Canadian provinces and 18 other countries in addition to various nuclear consulting efforts. He has published more than 90 UFO papers and has appeared on hundreds of radio and TV programs including on Larry King in 2007 and twice in 2008, and many documentaries. He is the original civilian investigator of the Roswell Incident and co-authored Crash at Corona: The Definitive Study of the Roswell Incident. TOP SECRET/MAJIC, his controversial book about the Majestic 12 group, established in 1947 to deal with alien technology, was published in 1996 and went through 6 printings. An expanded new edition was published in 2005. Stan was presented with a Lifetime UFO Achievement Award in Leeds, England, in 2002, by UFO Magazine of the UK. He is co-author with Kathleen Marden (Betty Hill’s niece) of a book in 2007: Captured! The Betty and Barney Hill UFO Experience. The City of Fredericton, New Brunswick, declared August 27, 2007, Stanton Friedman Day. His book Flying Saucers and Science was published in June 2008 and is in its 3rd printing. His newest book, also co-authored with Kathleen Marden, is Science Was Wrong released in June 2010.

He has provided written testimony to Congressional Hearings, appeared twice at the UN, and been a pioneer in many aspects of ufology including Roswell, Majestic 12, The Betty Hill-Marjorie Fish star map work, analysis of the Delphos, Kansas, physical trace case, crashed saucers, flying saucer technology, and challenges to the S.E.T.I. (Silly Effort To Investigate) cultists. He has spoken at more MUFON Symposia than anyone else.

Stanton T. Friedman is a dual citizen of the USA and Canada.

He did a q&a session on ATS.
Appeared to be a standup chap.
Didn't suffer fools lightly.

Mr. Friedman is my kind of guy. He destroys debunkers with just simple logic and common sense. And if he needs to fire his neurons more for the really tough cases of ignorance, he can do so with ease and then some. When the pro debunker whines about Mr. Friedman, you know he is the real deal. It's really that simple.

But... doesn't he habitually debunk Bob Lazar and George Knapp?

Is he your kind of guy when he's a debunker too?

Here is a list of some of his technical publications.

Try and wrap your tiny mind around something outside your itty bitty box, eh?

I think he is for real but like all professional ufologists he still has to make a living and there is no money just debunking all the BS floating around.

His credentials are real, but his total contribution to the UFO field has been unfortunately marginal.

He locked in early on the Extraterrestrial Hypothesis, possibly because some relatively high-ranking military guy slipped him some scuttlebutt that he completely believed, and never let go, even though there has never been an ounce of paydirt in it. Then he decided to push the Roswell thing to the breaking point, again championing an ET explanation. He has waved around his blacked out UFO report papers for decades assuming thanks to confirmation bias that the blacked out portions are the hidden truth of an ET answer to UFOs.

He seems like a decent, intelligent and sincere guy, but holy hell does he like to believe fantastic stories people tell him with no proof, and his personal biases have sidetracked him from doing much more productive and enlightening work. If AFOSI got to him and poisoned him with disinformation early on, they sure did a hell of a job of essentially neutralizing him.

Just goes to show you. Regardless of anyone's professional background, everybody's got an opinion, but without solid, verifiable proof to back it up, that's all it will ever be.

Stan is a throwback to a more innocent time when our knowledge of the solar system, let alone the universe, was a lot more limited. His qualifications are genuine.

Whilst he is a highly articulate and intelligent man whose oratory skills are excellent he is ultimately financially dependent on preserving myths now.

Because despite his 50 years or so in the UFO field even Stan can't prove anything he claims about aliens visiting us.

Every researcher hits this brick wall and Stan is no different. Anecdotal and incoclusive physical evidence will never be enough on its own. Despite his favourite argument that it would stand in a court of law. It wouldn't. Otherwise we'd accept the Loch Ness Monster , angels and ghosts are real as well.

But he's an interesting guy and has a wonderful ability to engage people in the topic.

I want to like Stanton very much, but I think he's way too smart to believe some of the ideas/cases he endorses.

He's very interesting, but to me his dishonesty dampers his appeal.

He's always welcome by me, yes.
Does that mean I have to unilaterally agree with him always?
There are a few things I feel he missed the mark on, but he is still a decent guy. He knows how to investigate things better than most, but that doesn't mean he is perfect or infallible.

Extraordinary stories like this makes us forget about our crappy daily lifes sometimes, so i can understand why people like and believe such fantastic claims and stories. Either way you are very right, any serious researcher must be way skeptical about any stories regarding extraodrinary stuff.

Do some research .. before asking ignorant questions!

A Ha! You've hit upon something... namely, how do we know what we think we know?

Is Friedman really a nuclear physicist who thinks aliens might've dropped by? Is the president of the U.S. and royalty in Europe really lizardly in nature? Does the past exist? Is the universe real? Am I real or some bot generating traffic on some obscure website?

Are you real.. .or some head floating in a nutrient rich vat getting fed illusion after illusion?

Get back to me when you know, please... I'll be waiting in my own vat.

I seem to remember someone asking him a simple question about the 1952 Washinton dc ufo incident , was it a foreign power / aliens / or our own things up there

Just by chance the same year that the military budget was going to be cut

Same person had Buzz Aldrin walk away when he was a kid when he asked buzz what kind of glass they used in the helmets and module that could take - 250 + 250 degrees go through it and not break
