Every year with the kids, without fail.

It's the only reason to bring out the garden hose lol

With all that snow it must be the size of Versailles.

I think the OP makes some pretty bold claims between the differences in our countries.

Im in Ontario, and have been south quite a few times (mostly Florida, drove down)

The first thing I noticed about the US was the vast infrastructure. The Interstate system is an absolute joy to someone such as myself who enjoys driving. First time I took my parents down south in 2009 we were driving across the top of Toronto on the 401, my old man asked what the worst spot to drive was, I said "we are in it now". Canada's highway system is terrible. Just brutal.

I didn't notice much of change in "things" until we hit the Mason-Dixon line, then the "drawl" starts and the southern culture becomes noticeable. North of that though its no different than here really.

Ive had just awful experiences with the provincial police in Ontario, no RCMP here, just power tripping meatheads, so I never noticed a change with the cops. Have been pulled over a couple times, just held my hands on the wheel until instructed to do otherwise. Cops were more pleasant there than here in my experience anyways.

Crime wont be an issue if you use your head. Stay out of bad parts of cities the same way you would avoid the downtown east side of Vancouver. Every city in the world has pockets of sketch.

The only things I hated about the US was the border. I haven't been south in five years, been taking advantage of nice cheap cuba vacations. No border hassles there amigo's.

No I'm lazy. I make the kids do all the work and I just spray it with water so it freezes.

It's mostly an excuse to stand in the yard and drink beer with my neighbors while we make small bets on which one of our kids will win the snow ball fights.

I have acquired a new found appreciation for our northern neighbors; drinking beer outdoors in the dead of winter.

I bet you wackos do not even use beer cozies...

Many times Canadians are portrayed as overly polite and folksy over here in the states

I guess it depends on the area. The overly polite Canadian, may be like the OP and afraid.

You will be never get that description of a Canadian from your average Floridian. In fact your average Floridian would pay the OP to post copies of their post all over Canada, and likely give the OP a bonus for every Canadian they can prove they stopped from crossing the border.

"Sorry for Canada buddy"

Assuming you are from Florida, is travel down by Canadians? I know some grey hairs go down for the winter and live in trailer parks but Im seeing a huge shift to the all inclusives from people I talk to.

I did Florida a few times but man, 28 hours of driving is a long time.

We just stick them in the snow in a nice line, sometimes the gap gets used as a hockey net.

Come on down to south of the Mason/Dixon line . Things are a whole lot different . Most of us still believe in good old "Southern Hospitality" . Share some good apple pie rum .

If you believe some of our US members, you can't go out without being racially abused and beaten by black people. The police are beating up drivers and shooting people for kicks. You can't barely move for all the Muslims and them there sharia laws have taken over. Thanks Obama!

If you go to a bar, you have to be careful the womenfolk are womenfolk and not SJWs baiting you for sexism. And then there's all the transgenders keeping up in numbers with the Muslims!! And all of them want to take the guns away! Thanks a f**** bunch Obama!!

I heard they's locking up all the whites, blacks and hispanics to make way for the coming tide of Muslims. Thanks Barrack Hussein Obama!!!

Who'd want to go to THAT America?!

Thankfully THAT America doesn't really exist.

Thank you. I would never know about all the evils that lurk in my country if I didn't watch the news or read ATS.

Call me crazy but

I DON'T FEEL SAFE IN U.S.A.

Look at the post title. Never been to the USA. Yet you don't feel safe in a place you have never been, because you heard bad things.

If you think the entire US is like the stories you have heard, it's probably best you don't come.

The people who break the laws here are the one's who need to be worried about the cops here. Those of us who don't break the law, find it an amazingly nice place to be. You should try that.

Hint: it is less about me and more about Merica

OK, you stay up there in the great white north with your weird bacon, and we'll enjoy our country too.

Do what works!

I used to work in the hospitality industry in Florida. That poster is misleading, it's the New Yorkers Floridians would pay to keep out of FL.

I don't live there anymore, though I did grow up there. Canadian tourist numbers seemed relatively steady over my lifetime, no noticeable dips or spikes that I can recount. For a time, there was a spike in French (France, not Quebecois) tourists, though.

You are no fun.

In the sake of bridging the cultural divide between our nations I am going to bring my, 'Yeeehaww' and my *pew* *pew* *pew* to Canada where I plan on riding those police horsies and drinking beer naked outdoors with TotheTenth.

Over here in England, we can't move for Muslims and have to wear burkhas under all that shania's law. Second in number to the Muslims are the armed robbers who do whatever they like cos we don't have any guns. Thanks Obama! *

I'd add more but the siren's calling us all to prayers at the mosque and a couple of armed robbers say it's their turn to rob my stuff today. They should go next door where there's a jobless family living off welfare with 36 children (half of them not even white!). *

* satire and jokes.

Meanwhile you are no doubt defending the "majority of peaceful Muslims" against criticism.

I was just looking at my local news to see how terrifiying the world I live in is as a comparison. This is the big news here today.

Six fire crews battled a major fire, near Cricklade, which burnt three large hay barns to the ground, leaving five sheep injured.

How did anything burn?? It's been like living in a cave under a waterfall for days now!

It's ironic that those hay bales might have been the driest, warmest place in England....until the fire brigade
