Nine American Troops Killed in Iraq ..

BAGHDAD, Iraq Jan 6, 2005 � A roadside bomb killed seven U.S. soldiers in northwest Baghdad and two Marines were killed in action in western Iraq Thursday, the deadliest day for American forces since a suicide attack last month, the U.S. military said.
The soldiers with Task Force Baghdad were on patrol Thursday evening when their Bradley fighting vehicle hit the explosive, the military said in a statement. Everyone inside the Bradley was killed.

No other details were immediately available. But Iraq's insurgents have frequently targeted American troops with crude explosives planted in roads and detonated remotely as patrols pass.

Two U.S. Marines were killed in action Thursday in the volatile western Anbar province, the military said. The Marines typically do not give details of how or where their troops are killed for fear of compromising security.

And the death toll keeps mounting and at the same time that this news were on the media stream also the complains of lack of troops in Iraq.

I guess littler by littler the insurgents way of targeting is hurting home. As more or our troops are becoming victims of war, our military is finding hard to find people to replaced them.

more of a casultie of war ( since it is a war and you cant expect the iraqi's to throw flowers at US forces )

Very sad news for the new year,my deep sympathies to the families.These rotten anti-personnel camouflaged IEDs placed by cowards...what more can be done to detect or avoid them?Too many lives taken by these hidden deathbots.Armor in these vehicles doesn't seem to be that mine-proof . Knowing the undertaking would be cumbersome,regarding convoys on night patrols with limited visual capabilities for detection-if traffic was cordoned off,and with additional air support coverage couldn't a UAV/helicopter equipped with frequency jammers & dangling a 100ft+ trawl net with plastic weights from an anchored width-adjustible rod precede the convoy, combing the road pre-detonating these devices?or do they have this already?or possess other more effective/time-efficient minesweeping techniques(vehicle front rollers of non-combustible alloy,super-weighted carpet?/frequency jammers/remote-cell phone scramblers?) or materials that don't add to the shrapnel yield. If this sounds impractical my apologies...everytime I hear the latest IED death toll-I struggle for a preventable solution.

What is more important? The 10 million IRaqi lives? Or the 10,000+ US casulties in Iraq?

The iraqi's do very little at securing their country, bringing an end to the war, saving their women, children, and themselves from awful things.

I dont understand my country. Why not kill the 10 million Iraqi's, instead of sending troops out to run over explosives, be shot at, mortared, rocket and missile attacked, grenaded and every other implement of war the iraqis might have. We cant stop that from happening apparently.

Im sorry I dont think being a hero is worth it. I would rather we fight them in attrition and mass murder, then weeding out the bad guys.

Well if all the IRaqi's are dead then I would not have to hear about US Soldiers being attacked in Iraq.

I dont really think they want to be liberated. Yes we are liberating them, but we are also shoving it down their throat. They dont have much of a choice, and they arent all about helping.

If I was drafted to fight a war, I would fight it on my own ideas. It would not invovle driving around in armored vehicles. It would involve shooting missiles and dropping bombs from airplanes.

Period. I would shoot my own soldiers if they told me to step foot into any Iraqi city. All it takes is that one paralyzing bullet or one little mine or bomb to kill you or blow off limbs.

Screw that.

The US government obviously has no idea of the value of life. They would rather throw our soldiers into Iraq and tell them they are liberators and heroes to their citizens.

I wonder if somebody who had his legs blown off would say it is worth it.

I have not been shot at or been attacked with explosives. If we never went to Iraq would I have been attacked? Probably not.

Could the soldiers have been home in safety rather then in Iraq and not have been attacked? probably.

So I dont see the urgency. If Iraq had WMD's then really that is a MAD situation. If Iraq had WMD's they would of used them.

There was no nuclear explosions going off or mass boilogical attacks anwyehere near the US or outside the US.

If we had the technology to detect roadside explosives and WMD's then yes it is logical to fight the war we are fighting in Iraq right now with out current tactic. It is obvious we cannot do these things, so our tactic in Iraq is flawed. We cant win a ground invasion without taking casulties or being obliterated.

Then the commanders should of decided that the war was going to have to be fought in the air. We did win the air war. So we should of utilized that into a slower "Seek out and destroy" any targets of oppurtunity.

If you want to play hero and go rolling into Baghdad and kicking in doors, fine. The 10,000 US Casulties speak for themselves. I hope the soldiers can appreciate what we did. Which was kill a bunch of people or scare them into hiding.

Now what? We have elections where we either make our guy win, or let them actually pick what government they want, and start a defiant US government and go back to square one.

So we didnt liberate them. We invaded them. We took over their country and it was the US soldiers that did that.

I dont think the Iraq people have any real say on what is going to go on in the future.

They no doubt want our heads.

I cant picture a foreign government invading the US and then telling us we had to start a new type of government all together, all while they accidently killed 10.000 of our citizens and waged offensive operations against my own countries military.

The US has some severely screwed up thinking. The news is clueless, they are a bunch of fools who spread some stupid misinformation. They are either pretty dumb girls or doods who couldnt do anything in life besides be a sleezeball newsanchor.

And the stupid american public that coudlnt do anything on their own if they wanted to. It is "The US government will handle this" and the "Us government will handle that".

Sockety sucks. You become a soldier, a scientist, work in a uspermarket, become a porn star, work in a restaurant or fast food place, become an accountant, a lawyer, or a teacher, or work for the government.

Oh but if your broke dont get your hopes up on college. If you dont like any of the jobs in society (if you can even find a job doing what you want anyways) your screwwed and have to do something, if you dont then you dont have money to live. And then the world sits on your chest and suffocates you out. Somehow our lives arent important enough to guarantee the respect of the planet. WE have to slave to earn our keep.

Or you can just be born into wealth. In which case who the # cares about anyubody else.

Oh but here we are in IRaq. SHitting on ourselves again. Sending in our own people to conquer a people who are just going to try and kill us the next day. But you have a rules of engagement and you cant shoot them until they decide that are going to fight. OR it will be too late and you would already be dead anyways.

Conclusion is the ultimatum should of been that we werent going to do anything, or we were going to draw the line in the sand and tell iraq they must do this or else they would be annhiliated.

It might cost the IRaqis their lives, but it would of saved a whole bunch of AMericans.

Thats good enough for me. I dont have a choice but to be on the US side. War is about two different sides. If I sympathize with the Iraqi's , then what good does that do? They are the one's who are going to be shooting back. I cant really sympathize with that. They already made it clear where they stand. We should of made it clear where we stand.

Why cant all humans work for personal satisfaction instead of survival? Why arent we all given the same basic standard of living?

We know how to grow food and pruify water. What else do we need to do? Nothing. Maybe all jobs should be government issued like working in food processing or security.

What is the point of an accountant? A lawyer? We invented computers. We dont need accountants. Do we need people working in restaurants? Why cant we just have everyone get a govt issued job in food processing preparing food.

People like going out to eat? Bah well tough.

Everyone should be given a home when they turn 18. Get rid of urbania. Only allow them to have 2 kids.

Then we will truuly be self sufficient.

Our population would never grow. We would have food and water. Shelter. We would be happier.

Nope, instead we slave for survival.

All because some humans are criminals and ugly that we had to structure our society like this as a check and balance..

But whatever no sweat off my back. Im not poor and I live in the US.

My only future is becoming so stupidly rich I dont care, live off my dwindling inspiration in the faith of my race, or become a terrorist and die or kill people for hwat I beleive.
