Why do people make fun of Islam ?

Brilliant - that was very insightful. It is not often that a Muslim leader has the courage to point out Islams failings and articulate with such courage and poise the observation that Muslims need to change in order to be accepted and that instead of retreating into hatred, they should engage the extremists among them with wisdom, logic and love.

I have a lot of respect for Nouman Ali Khan - and Charlie, if you are reading this, this bloke is exactly what I imagine you to be like.

Finally got home and listened to the video, heres hoping everybody watches this, dude is awesome , well minus that he believes in a god.

I wish that soul who made that speech was right and that the Quran was a book on increasing awareness and bringing a senses of oneness to humanity. It would have been a blessing on humanity.

If he did have a perfect book without duality hate that followed the universal golden rule then maybe he would have had a tool of peace and a cry to stand above hypocrisy that all would have been interested in hearing.

We Brits make fun of everything, ourselves more than anything else.

We are renowned for seeing humour in everything and in any situation - nothing is above being taking the piss out of - especially something that sets itself above everything else and views itself as so sacred and sacrosanct that it is above humour or criticism.

I don't believe in making fun of anyone regardless of religion, sex, age, etc. I believe mankind was made in the image of God and we are to love God and love others. 'People ' is a bucket term. But I follow the bible and every individual is different. The bible says to build each other up and love your enemy. Bless those who curse you.


Do you read the Koran? Do you know that it says everyone who isn't Muslim is an infidel? It also says that you are to 'smite' your enemies? Do you believe in 'smiting ' your enemies?

So how can Islam be a religion of peace? Please explain that to me. Do you study or research what you believe?

Sorry for so many questions, but I can't wrap my mind around that.

Islam is a joke....Sorry but every time someone mentions it's a religion of peace I think back to all the islamic related violent acts that have been committed recently in the name of their so called religion..

So yes they deserve to be made fun of. I mean who would want to be in that religion anyway? You're not allowed to do anything but pray 5 times a day and get forbidden from most normal facets of life. That religion sounds miserable as f.ck to me...Oh yeah and I have to hate non-believers because they aren't islamic...Yeah they are a joke alright.

Whike I appreciate the sentiment, I also consider it incomplete and misguided.

Christianity, and indeed any other ideologies be they religious or political, suffer from the same complaint.

In addition, it represents an incomplete view of the faith, as well as completely misinterpreting the intent as well as substance of the thread and information provided in the OP.

Kindly please consider what is provided to start and provide input of more weight in the future - you've said nothing to add the the discussion or that wasn't essentially addressed in the first few responses.

I think that some people can sense when someone gets butthurt over their BS religions and some people tend to feed off of that, I know I do. If I sense someone is getting upset because I am mentioning problems with religion, then that just makes me really bring it on, I know Im a butthole but its who I am.
