your god of the Old Testament lied many times; beginning in the Garden of Eden.

Since when has the 'father of lies' become a reliable source?

Your 'god' is going to let you down hard, you might want to brace yourself...

Maybe, we do? He's god.

Why would he need to ask? You show me in the bible were he "asked" anything of men?

Now show me were men didn't do what was "asked" of them and it turned out swell?

Again. I think you're falling for man's inherent rebellious emotions. God has never asked men/man anything. He's told them a lot. But has never "asked". He's not the dick. We are!

Then he gives us a redemption and a way out. And still? We, reject him...

Ask? We have never been asked. We've been told. But we want to be "asked". That's a big portuion of our problem. Rebellion.

if there is only one god then everybody worships the same god, they just do it in different ways.

why would they worship god in different ways? because different men wrote the different holy books and their bias and preferences determined how each book was written.

Or? Because men "understand" what suites them?
Being rebellious by nature, they make there "religion/belief" more "tolerable"?

Even Lucifer, quotes God.

It's a very old argument. It won't get fixed here. Not on this "website".

But if I could help one soul seek truth and "deny ignorance "? It's worth my time.

To break it down a little:

Muslims worship for their supreme god a deity named Allah - the name derives from an originally pagan Moon & Storm god (married to the goddess Allat) in local Arabic mythology and seems to have gone originally by the name of Hub'allah - but the name Allah has been also used by Arab Christians since pre-Islamic times to refer to the god of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - and also used by Bábists, Bahá'ís, Indonesian and Maltese Christians.

The name Allah is also used by Mizrahi Jews to refer to a creator Deity. The name Al-lah was previously used by pagan pre-Islamic Arabs for the Creator god, the supreme deity in pre-Islamic Arabia. The Qur'an states: "the reality of Allah, his inscrutable Mystery, and all of his various names and his works on behalf of his creatures..." leaving the gate open to identify other Arabic gods' names with Allah.

Post-Exilic Rabbinnic Jews worship a Midianite clan-god named YHWH ('Yah-weh') KJV 'The LORD' aka YHWH Tsabaoth ('the LORD God of Hosts' or 'ha-elohim Avraham, veYitzak veYakkov'; Yahweh is often mis-pronounced as "Jehovah" by putting in the vowels of edonai into YHWH) they also name other Canaanite clan gods in the Torah that were later identified (replaced) with YHWH : El-Berit, El-Elyon and El-Shaddai - intererestingly in the poetic sections of the Book of Job (chapters 3-40), the god's name is Eloah (singular fem. of Elohim) not YHWH; the generic term 'elohim' ('gods') is often used to replace the Tetragrammaton ('four letters') of YHWH in the Tanakh (Torah, Neviim, Ketuvim).

Christians worship the man-god R. Yehoshua bar Yosef the Galilean (Gk. ho Iesous) as the 'son of YHWH' aka ha-Meshiaq ('the Messiah'); they adapted the god YHWH (making him sellable) for their own politico-religious purposes, although few modern Christians are cognizant that they are worshipping the same clan-god of the post-exilic rabbinic Jews YHWH who authorizes extermination and total genocide of e.g. the sons of Amalek ('Amalekites') 'utterly from under the vault of heaven.'

In 2003 Pat Robertson is reputed to have summed up the intense competition between followers of YHWH, Allah and 'Jesus' when he stated : "The struggle is whether Hubal[a], the Moon God of Mecca, known as Allah, is supreme, or whether the Judeo-Christian God of the Bible is Supreme..."

Clear as mud?

To ANSWER your OP? Nope! Many "Christians" worship the same "god" as the heathens do, out of ignorance.
"God" once, "winked at ignorance".... Not so much, anymore.

You know what God winks at? WOW!

The whole mess would make sense when you look at it as each faith was a member of a family.

Genesis 12:1-3 1 The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you. 2 "I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."

It does not say the Elder or the Younger but You, which means all. As far as I can see, The Muslim Nations are the Older Brother to the Jewish Nations.

The Older Brother has all rights to pick on the younger, and the younger has all rights to try and retaliate against the older. But any one from the Outside of that relationship has no right what so ever, and most likely would get both Brothers Turning on them.

This Family Dynamic is why the Jews will never be Killed off by the Muslim and why the Muslim will never really be hurt by the Jews. And it is this very Family Dynamic that is the Reason everyone needs to back off of Both of them and let them finish what they started Back in Genesis 16 and 17.

Now here is where it gets interesting, the Christians/Catholics/protestant/all other Christ based faiths are the adopted children of the line of Issac, which if you were looking at it from the Line of Ishmael it is kinda the Adopted Retarded Nephew, they really do not belong to the original covenant but it is like having to take care of that Adopted Retarded Nephew.

But then that is an opinion of a Back slid-den Redneck Baptist, so it most likely does not amount to much.

what about Zoroastrianism. They have one god and is as old as temple judaism. they had some influence over ancient persia and likely over the evolution of judaism.

God is not a religious figure......

Religion is what man created to try to understand God

If you believe in such a force

Which I do

People shouldnt be persecuted for their pursuit of truth, lest that pursuit cause harm....

I dont believe in demeaning others for choosing paths different from my own

However the OP seems to have some criticism for how people decide to achieve that goal....

“The various religions are like different roads converging on the same point. What difference does it make if we follow different routes, provided we arrive at the same destination?” ― Mahatma Gandhi

There is an evil spirit called "spirit of religion". Not all but many who consider themselves to be VERY religious have this spirit with them....it will bring you to murder and kill in the name of religion.

I am uncertain of the scholarship but there are experts who say that Mohammed adopted a city God (all were basically named Ba'al.) the symbolism of Islam the crescent moon and Venus are symbols of a city/well/lunar god.

If that is true then despite claims (appropriation of other religion's trappings is a sin of all religions Christianity included) the god of Islam would definitely not be the God of Israel.

To answer why mainstream religion avoids use of God's name is to find the truth.

To utter the true name of god you would be blaspheming...a bit of a catch 22 you have gotten yourself in

I question your understanding of "recent". Recent to who? You? In your limited lifespan?...

Reread trhe Old Testament, many gods vied for power. The Israelites/jews took monotheism and many teachings from the Egyptians while in exile

Or? You fail to see/ believe he could. And he had to suffer for our "ignorance"? It wasn't about him. It was about us

suffer for our ignnorance? Youre the ignorant one when I responded to you asking why god wasnt Omniscient in the garden and couldnt see Adam, and you write the above that had nothing to do with what I asked of you. Ignorance is bliss...

WHat you mean the muslims?

Exodus 20:1-15

“You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

Funny how you dont know your own bible - now are you gonna burn those family pictures or is it all a matter of "your interpretation"?
