Depopulation of the world would be just another temporary band-aid to save it.
Trouble is, the people left behind would have the same mindset as when it would begin.
Think of the trillions upon trillions of trials and
errors, genetic modifications and environmental change
that nature has compiled on every aspect of this
planet, to produce what we experience today. We would
not be here if anything went different.
The asymptotic technology curve that WE have developed
as of late has even more of a chance of being our
undoing because it has such a small "experience" data
base behind it. "What could go wrong here?" should be a
standing query on everyone's mind.
Unless the entire world is involved, our success at
preserving what we have does not pass statistical
muster, and a depopulation strategy just forever postpones the inevitable.
In our current state, we are really non-sustainable.
We need to change our attitude about everything and
respect this planet, with all that depend upon it, as a
primary objective.
That means all living creatures, not just our present
self righteous species that specializes in hatred for
one another.
George Carlin said it best:
"The planet is not going anywhere.. We are. Pack your
bags folks. The planet will just shake us off like a
bad case of fleas. The planet, it's self, will be
fine."
