The investigation is pointing towards a software problem. The ship was running in CODAG mode, and doing a high speed run for photographers, and pushing 38 knots. There was a problem with a fuel valve, that caused an automatic shutdown. During the shutdown, there was a timing issue with the software, and instead of disengaging the clutch, as it was supposed to, the clutch remained engaged, burning out the clutch plates, and reducing the speed of the ship to bare steerageway.
