Actually, not really. From what I understand, the "state of emergency" under which France is operating and conducting these raids means that they can basically do anything that they want without necessarily abiding by due process. But I may be misunderstanding it.

So in 15 days and only 3 mosques, they found 1/3 the qty of "war-grade" weapons than normally seized in one year. There are over 2300 mosques in France, and while these 3 represent only a fraction, they held what seems to be a lot of weapons and documents related to jihadist activity.

Do you find 334 weapons in 2,235 homes and buildings shocking? Surely not, you live in Georgia. I'm from Georgia too and if you raided the three homes of my immediate family, you'd find somewhere north of three dozen. What's being done here is conflation to sensationalize the story. From the sounds of it, they found some ammo and a revolver in a mosque and the rest was found at people's homes/businesses. There's no details of why they were confiscated, again they rely on conflation to give the impression that the weapons were confiscated because they're part of a potential terrorist stockpile of some sort.

What is a "war-grade" weapon? Sounds like the French version of "assault weapon" to me. The only example given is a revolver. I suppose that might have been a "war-grade" weapon a hundred years ago. Then again, two hundred years ago a musket was a "war-grade" weapon.

Just some food for thought for those that continue to state Islam is peaceful....and wondering still why this has not made headlines....agenda driven maybe?

Why is this article so bereft of details and full of conflation? Oh, it's the Express UK, an overtly fear mongering tabloid. What happened to denying ignorance? Are we so weak that we're going to be complicit in letting in the fear mongering of tabloids and orange haired buffoons who would have us cast aside our own values of liberty and the rule of law and give religious fanatics the holy war they're wanting?

It hasn't gotten wider attention because too easy an argument can be made for self defense. Not like anyone over there is burning mosques…

War Grade weapon?...That is a new term...What Century we talking about...could be Swords and shields, bows and arrows for all we know.

Neither your source nor the france24.com source in the existing thread Here, say that anything was found in a mosque.

After large scale searches, spanning 2,235 homes and buildings searched, 334 weapons seems to be a small number.

You have read this where? We have Muslims in the US Armed Forces and surely they are bombing in areas where other Muslims live--and yet you say they can't even 'tell on' another Muslim planning something nefarious?

You're deliberately left to guess. It might have been videos in a browser history. You have no way of knowing, that's the point. If they said they found a computer that had a handful of extremists videos in the browser history, that wouldn't be scary enough.

There are over 6 million Muslims in France, they apparently raided over 2,000 buildings and put 9 people on house arrest and another 22 on a no fly list. I'll do the math for you, that's .0005% of Muslims in France. What's the appropriate reaction to this information? Panic? Turn against the overwhelming number of non-jihadists until we in the West are throwing away all of the things that we claim to believe in only to become the would be destroyers of Islam of ISIS propaganda?

Stop and consider that last statement. Muslim extremist propaganda focuses on painting Western countries as waging a global war to eliminate Islam from the face of the planet. The more we overreact, the more we set aside our own values, the more we ostracize and demonize all Muslims — the more we become like the propaganda version of ourselves that ISIS and others are using to radicalize people into joining their cause.

On the other hand, they had to justify home evasions. Sloppy job by the cops.
