Instead of posturing, why doesn't Texas get other states involved and collectively file a general grievance with the Federal government?
If I remember correctly a few years back, Texas threatened to remove TSA from it's airports and go back to private contractors after some highly publicized groping incidents. Feds basically said you do that and no commercial aircraft will be allowed to fly from or to the state of Texas. They (Texas) backed down.. Moral of the story ?
I don't want to visit the USA, but Texas, yes
uhhhh.....Texas currently is still part of the USA. I hope the Republican do put succession on the ballot. Not all Texans are fools. As a born and raised Texas farmer.....we've grown to like the federal agricultural subsides, soil banks, oil leases, price supports, etc.
Secession is just pandering by the GOP....anyone in business knows that.
grist.org...
So you like being taxed by your federal government so you can receive some back.
What percentage are the subsidies compared to taxes.
I don't want a specific answer
Son, if you ever do come to Texas....you will get a quick lesson in minding YOUR OWN business. **** off! Your assumptions are pure BS.

If you have ever said the "Pledge of Allegiance" to the American Flag...and you renege on that pledge....you are a traitor and should be treated as such.
What is it about ...."one Nation, Under God, Indivisible" you can't understand?

This never polls well even in Texas. I think the highest I have ever seen it was at %30 percent. And that of course is without people being explained about how much money the Federal Government pumps into Texas through its military bases, NASA and those 10,000 border patrol agents along the Texas border.
If Texas were to succeed it could take over funding for the Texas National Guard but at the Fed has payed for most of what it has the US would likely take it or have them buy it. Still that is only 19000 men and they would have to secure the border when those 10000 border patrol agents pulled back. Texas would loose 33% of its budget which comes from the Fed. Texas like any US state would be a poor nation.

I've actually read up on the "birth of the pledge", have you?
Nothing like taking political control of a socialists simple pledge that was originally meant for all flags of all nations. A kind of unity ideaology from a socialit. Then force innocent children to pledge to something they really can't even comprehend.

There are more traitors in the halls of congress and white house than there are in the entire state of Texas.

Adults say the pledge of allegiance. all the time. They also sign loyalty oaths...I guess pledging your word and bond in America is a meaningless exercise depending on which party is in power. imo opinion that's BS. I hated Bush; that didn't mean I relequinshed loyal to my country ...we military people understand that. Or at least we should.

I'm calling BS on that. We were the only state in the union making bank while everyone else was treading water a few years back.
Pull out the references or I'm going to consider it nonsense.
Confirmed, complete nonsense. For every dollar we give we receive 91 cents in return.
Tax vs Aid
Low Dependence
Also, stating Texas is "one of the, if not the largest welfare state" is disingenuous. This is like stating the US is the most indebted nation in the world. Both are ranked 3rd by population, yet when you take a per capita compared to the GDP, the results become more telling and truthful.
Texas is about in the middle as far as percentage of population on SNAP. Not gonna fool me!

First of all. Texans oeacfully leaving the union is laughable. Second of all, they are absolutely traitors. They are american citizens openly trying not to be american anymore.

That sums it up well enough for me. So, if these wise guys really knew what would happen were Texas to become it's own nation again, why do they want to push the issue? I don't think it will pass and in light of this information I don't want it to pass.
