Why would the New Jerusalam need a wall around it? Also the planet would be pretty much destroyed if something this big entered the atmosphere so why
would God even bother bringing it here?
According to Christian theology (Revelation) New Jerusalem is not in this universe. It is not a terrestrial city. New Jerusalem is in the third
heaven located outside of this universe.
New Jerusalem has a wall about the city which is built upon a new world with a new heaven. The wall has four sides with three gates per side and has
angelic guards at each gate. Outside of the New Jerusalem is the new world which has people living upon the new earth (Isaiah 65:17-25) and
(Revelation 22:14,15). Theology teaches that these people are the ones who were denied a chance for salvation such as the aborted or mentally
challenged and are given 100 years of life in the flesh to accept salvation. Many of them will not make it just the same as we have today. The
infants will be cared for by the ones within the city who will go in and out of the city to raise the children till they can be accountable. The
leaves of the trees of the city will be the healing medicine for these children (Revelation 22:2).
This is strictly theology and is not meant to cause a riff among those who read this and is meant only to explain the reason for the gates to be
guarded. All is theologically based upon the last two chapters of both Isaiah and Revelation. I am only the messenger so please don't aim at me.
