We don't - and that's a reality that seems to elude so many people. Racism will always exist. What we can do is learn to not be divided among racial lines. I suggest the following to help meet this end:

-news reports should not include mention of a person's race
Ex: Black gunman kills white woman
should be changed to:
Woman shot dead (or anything that does not mention the race)

-news reports should also report the good deeds done by police officers - yes police brutality is a problem, but it is a minority of the force that is a problem. Most cops are people who are trying to protect and serve.

-we do not need to fill out race on the census...62% white, 13% black, etc...what is important is one stat: 100% American

-employers, universities, etc. should not be allowed to ask for an applicant's race

We have come far as a nation - but there is still more to do. However, that does not involve perpetuating the myth that institutionalized racism is responsible for all the problems or that things aren't equal. We've moved past the civil rights hurdles - now it is time to change how we think about race.

As groups such as Black Lives Matter show, America is still drawing racial lines - it's time to stop. Look at other factors such as wealth and education.

What I am suggesting here is nothing short of a major shift in perspective. Largely because of the MSM, we think of things in terms of race. Let's end it now. Stand up for justice - if a police officer kills an unarmed suspect, arrest and convict based on evidence. If we continue to use racial qualifiers, we will remain stuck.

You're absolutely right. The sooner people stop with their "I don't see color" nonsense... the sooner we can progress in the right direction. Racism exists. It always will. Period.

We split the country up into sections as the UN wanted in the M.E.Each individual race (which that term really doesnt exist outside of the human race), Make each individual section its own nation with sovereign borders. All done.

(Is that sarcasm ? I am getting good at this)

Actually for me , it does. I refuse to call or describe someone using the mythological race term. And , I will call you down in a heartbeat for saying "that black lady ' , the "hispanic man" My words are , I have no idea what you are saying. Please give a different description. They usually change the description...Just me though I guess.

we would need to get rid of all but one race. problem solved. Then people can find something better to fight about like, eye color, or what style hat your wearing...

I think the forefathers were actually the NWO supported few. They didn't actually set the country up to be ran by the people, it was ALWAYS set to be run by the elite.

Oh yea, the point of that, the elite want divide.

Wow, so you call people out on using racial terms as descriptions? You're so evolved and diversity-embracing. You must be a thrill to talk to. Can people acknowledge other facts about people, such as their height, hair and eye color? How would you give the police a description? Your idea is so starry eyed and rose tinted that it beggars belief.

Stop talking about it, stop overreacting to it. Grow a thicker skin, stop obsessing over its color.

ugh, I was going to get on here an argue, but I agree.

My dog barked at a AA guy the other day. Is he a racist? Or is he an animal? Does the dog know the plight with slavery the guys family may have had, or is the dog being alert to people who differ from his norm?

There is a reason animals are wired to stay around their own type, it is a survival instinct required for life,
and it won't be "cured" by politics, media or guilt.

I also want to add...

If you go to school, sacrifice your "style", i.e. dress like a nerd-slave like we all had to to get the job, you will get one too.

Unless you are famous, you will need to prove yourself reliable and trustworthy. This process will start with your appearance, this is the first time people will judge you, to make sure you are worthy.

If you look good, next comes eye contact, with a handshake, then communication.

These are values I was taught when young. May not be fair, but you can't change the reality, you will get back what you put out.

Rarely is it handed to anyone.

Racism is a learned behavior, there was probably a time in our evolutionary history where are divisions based upon race was unknown at the time. I doubt it has always existed.

I concur though, their really does need to be a shift in consciousness regarding not only how we divide ourselves racially but how we divide humanity entirely on useless category descriptions. We will need to unite has a species in the way we think of our fellow human beings, other beings in which
we share this earth with and entities in which we share this universe with.

Yes we'll just get the media to stop dividing us along lines to bicker amongst ourselves so there is less chance of uniting against the greater foe…

If tribalism is any indicator, racism was far worse in the past than it is now. In general, people tend to group together with people of similar characteristics.

Does anyone here witness racism in their daily lives?

I am all over the place in multiple cities around FL, and I just don't see any racism.

The liberal news/Gannet production companies and odumbo seem like the only ones.

You are comparing animal behavior with human ? Wow.

Governments and hate fueled the entire race issue. There is only one race as it was back then - Human

Racism is a buzzword and anyone who claims others are "racist" is claiming they aren't themselves, which is BS. "Race," i.e.: color or other identifying characteristics, is an identifier, just like saying someone who is wearing a red shirt is an identifier, or someone is a woman or someone is over 6 feet tall. It is an identifying characteristic.

If you pretend otherwise, you are missing the basics.

Get over it.

How far back are you going? Yes people do tend to cooperate better with people similar to them, but those similarities aren't always going to revolve around the superficiality of ones physiology let alone the color of someone's skin and hair.
There was once a time in our human evolutionary past when we had roughly the same melanin content making us almost indistinguishable in regards to the color of our skin and hair. The odds of someone having a differing amount of melanin were much lower when we were first left the African continent.
If your talking about when we first started systemically subjugating members of our own species because of physical characteristics than your more than right.
