I said this 2 years ago and things are just going to get worse. Obama's policies and lack of leadership has created too many vacuums in the world. Obama thinks American power is the evil influence on the world stage so he's uncomfortable with words like victory or winning. It's the Black Liberation Theology mindset he learned under Rev. Wright.

1. He pulled out of Iraq too soon in order to please the Left and that created a vacuum for Isis which he called the JV team.

2. He supported the Arab Spring and pushed to remove Mubarak, Gaddafi and Assad out of power and replace them with the Muslim Brotherhood. That now has us in a proxy war with Russia in Syria and it's created a Syrian Refugee crisis.

3. Obama was supposed to be the internet President with all the hip Facebook people supporting him yet Isis is destroying us on Social media. Where's the propaganda against Isis? Where's the use of things like predictive analytics and intelligent algorithms?

We talk about the NSA and privacy but that's just insane in the age of Big Data. Who cares if they look at your tweets, Facebook posts or bulk phone records? A human will not be looking at these things because there isn't a human that can look at all that data. For instance, there's 500 million tweets a day and 200 billion tweets per year.

An intelligent algorithm will go over all of the data and look for a signal in the noise. The more noise or data the better the signal. Nobody will be looking at your tweets about Modern Family or the Real Housewives of Atlanta. It's just more noise for the algorithm to find better signals.

We have to be smarter and less terrified about technology because it will be a major defense for us. Sadly, Obama's policies and lack of leadership will have us biting our nails until January 2017. Hopefully there's something left to bite by the time he leaves office.

You forgot one thing;

He is such a goober that when Russia came along to provide some real leadership in Syria he sat there cowering in the corner and refused to work with them.

Now he has allowed Turkey to stir up a real fracas, drawing the NATO alliance dangerously close to confrontation with Russia. All could have been avoided if Obama had just sat down with Putin and agreed to work with him on a military and intelligence level.

I used to like Obama. but he has shown his true ineptitude at being a world leader since ISIS came along.

Sadly, this is the mentality of Obama's followers. They try to compare any criticism of their king to things like blaming him for untied shoelaces. It's childish and the fact is Obama's policies have serious consequences just like some of the Bush policies Obama followers complained about for 8 years.

If your sholeace was untied in an ISIS attack against decadent western infidel shoelaces then you would be correct

Obama's policies are not his own, he's only following orders from those who back him financially. Obama is a scapegoat, an easy target for people to point out but he's only a decoy. If Romney would have won the election, it wouldn't have been any different today than it is with Obama.

I'm just kind of sick of seeing people fall for the bull# over and over again. Putting all blame on the shoulders of one man is not only unfair, it is ignorant too. I dislike Obama just as much as the next guy, but we need to start realizing the game is rigged by those who give the president his orders.

Excellent points!

All of this is because Obama wants to removes Assad which will complete his trifecta of Mubarak, Gaddafi and Assad. Obama had the chance to take out Assad before Russia even came into the picture. Obama and his policies have set the world ablaze and it will just get worse.

Great post.

The problem is Obama can't work with Putin because he is being led by a covert operation that has as it's main goal the destruction of certain ME governments and Syria is one of them.

If Obama goes against that directly he may be breaking the law

Or the people behind that op wont like it and Obama has no real courage

Obama has to get rid of the covert operation, something he has not the leadership capacity or courage to do

All the things you are talking about were set in motion long before Obama was in office. Hell, some of it even before Bush was in office.

The lead up and build up of Al Qaeda, (the base) and the shift from (the struggle) was part of US foreign policy tied in with Russia's war in Afghanistan. Clinton's policies did not help, Bush policies were inflammatory if not 'aiding and abetting' (see: Ali Mohamed - Who's career spans a few presidents, but did the most damage late Clinton era - Early Bush)

The shift from refugee remittance centres to terrorist recruiting centres happened under the nose of intelligence agencies. All of it was tied into the future happenings in Egypt, and the build up of Al Qaeda. The future of Daesh developing in Iraq and Syria can be squarely placed on the Iraq war, and whether or not they pulled out, that region was destined to spawn some ugly creature in the wake of the devastation out there.

A long term occupation is just not feasible. For every single 'evil' you wipe out there, another 2-3 spring up, and in a couple years you have a few more fully grown jihadis to add to the mix. It's a lose/lose position. Occupation doesn't work. Especially in todays times.

The best you can hope for is moderate sized military presence in a base, and a government willing to work with you, which I think the US currently has in Iraq, but the price it cost to get there was probably too great for the return on investment.

He only wants Assad gone because Syria bows to nobody. They are a strongly independent nation and Assad is quite resilient as the war over there has shown. America does not like nations who won't cower or pander to their agenda. And for that reason alone Russia and Syria are vital for the world.

America needs a strong opposing force to keep it from going any more rogue than it already has.

No sir. What's childish is blaming Obama for all the world's ills. Your simplistic world view is quite laughable.

If anything he is guilty of listening to his security services too much.

They would benefit from any military intervention, so no doubt the narrative needed to follow a certain path?

What sort of country would we be, unless we demonstrated our contracted out weapons? See how they fly!!

As was the tracking of OBL and yet, Obama claimed that victory all to himself. You don't get to pick and choose the credit or blame for events that occur on your watch. He owns his decisions.

Mubarek was a puppet and he was long overdue to get ousted. That would have happened with or without Obama in office. Everything that happened with him had been boiling behind the scenes since Sadat was assassinated.

Ghaddafi was always living on borrowed time.

Assad has had a target on his back shortly after he rose to power as his Mother's puppet. His Father was a petty brilliant leader and tactician, who's pragmatic nature got him to the top in a snake pit of political powers. He established pretty sweeping changes which boosted the countries international standing.

Assad though, (the Son), it didn't take long for him to undue everything his father had done. This could be blamed on him as much as the Iraq war (again... This war doesn't like to go away does it?) as the inflammatory cause of broken down relations in the region. And the subsequent rise of Syria/Iran/Russian relations.
