Yea, that's why I'm still not sure how to judge this. I know that JJ wants to do the practical effects thing which is cool, but I still haven't forgiven him for Star Trek either.

Though it could be worse, they could have gotten Michael Bay to do it.

On the bright side JJs hired Cecep Rahman from the Raid 2 to be a bad guy and do live action fighting and weapon work. So that's a major plus in the live action arena for the film and a sign hes doing something right.

He would line up the death star so that it took out multiple planets in a line in one shot then do a excessive number of shots of the multiple explosions all shot from a low angle looking up at the explosions to make them seem grander. Also, he'd take 99% of the script and throw it out saying 'Dialog! Who needs dialog!!!! more BS CGI explosions all filmed from the same angle for effect!'

I dig the A-wing and N-1 for the look and the B-wing for firepower, that XG-1 Starwing isnt to bad either but I only know it from an old PC game expansion Ive had for years. Growing up if I were to get a wish it would have been to be in commands of an actual droid automated Imperial Star Destroyer, the topic of many freestyle writing assignments in grade school.

I suppose it also depends on at what point in the story this new movie will take place in will determine how far along their tech is. We might see a few of the newer ships in the movie, have to wait and see. I dont want to know too much until I see it the movie first, hopefully it wont be as bad as some have been saying. It couldnt possibly be better than the original 3 but it should be better than the last 3. It has got Han and Chewbacca in it so it already is, havent seen Luke yet but I purposely try and miss the trailers and try not to read any ATS StarWars threads for fear of spoilers. Ship talk sucked me into this one though. I`d love to talk more about all this after the movie.
