Did you possibly witness Venus?

Tomorrow before dawn – November 29, 2015 – it’ll be hard to miss the planets Venus and Jupiter blazing away in the sky before sunrise

earthsky

In the timeframe of this in North America, Venus is below the horizon until it rises very early in the Morning.

I don't have any details to work with
AKA time, location. etc..

Yea, depends where you live, however since it is inside the orbit of the Earth, it (Venus) is always fairly close to the Sun, so it is seen only near sunrises and sunsets (unless you live in the antarctic or the North Pole !)

just check ed the weather to reply, humidity is high says 93%, wouldn't have thought it was that high doesn't feel like it. it's 61 degrees, i live in the panhandle of Florida.

Quit rubbing it in. I'm a yooper and it's awfully cold up here. When I stuck my head out the patio door to look at it, my eyes watered and frosted over and all I could see was a blur.

if you look at the picture in this thread, and the look at my attempt to show what i saw in the moon picture i posted.
what they are calling a planet looks just about the color and shape of what i'm seeing, just more luminescent and i would say maybe not as distinct, it looks round but not quite as defined.

couldn't and wouldn't want to live where it gets that cold and stays that way.

What a poignant typo!
(even if it wasn't a typo)

South Florida here, treasure coast, I see it. It's clearly visible and now in the 10 o'clock position. So its definitely moving and looks exactly like the OP'S pic but almost transparent.

Super! Another witness. It has to do with locale. I am up in New England. I figured out I can see the moon out of my window if I raise the blinds and look out of the top part from an angle and it is still not visible for me.

just went out and looked again. the moon is higher in the sky now and i'm beginning to think it's the way the light is reflecting.
i can close one eye and it looks as if it's on both sides, either eye. and when i hold my hand up it seems to fade out some.

it's just damn strange, i've never seen any thing like that before and i use to go out in my younger days and partake in a certain habit and watch the skies during and for a while after partaking and never saw anything like that. i've saw rings around it and what looked like clouds on it, but never anything like that.

Which is what immediately make me think Venus. Looking for stellar anomalies to see if anything might be around that only a few people would notice. Nothing unusual yet.

I can't even begin to start on how incorrect this is. I'll try with this -
. O o
. = venus, O = sun, o = earth. From this simple script you can see sometimes the Sun is closer to Earth than Venus due to celestial orbit.

I've seen plenty of luminosity and thin rings of color around the moon's perimeter in the last decade or more (like what the astronauts in the ISS see on the earth's horizon) and I think it's because of the heavy aluminum particulate and/or increased solar particulate often in the atmosphere. There have been times the luminosity reflecting off of the moon is so amplified by the atmosphere I have to look away because it hurts my eyes but what you are describing is not the same. It's like you are seeing an actual second object which looks luminescent.

here is a screen shot of the program stellarium that Timely recommended. you may have to enlarge it.

as you can see, Venus is not in view, hold on a little bit and i'll find it, i found it once when playing with the program, gotta remember how i got it to show.
