Well I don't agree with you regarding the statement about if you jump the starter out it won't make the starter go because of the neutral safety
switch.... If you short between the small post that energizes the solenoid and the big post which is hooked directly to the positive side of the
battery it will make the starter go no matter what gear the car is in and no matter what kind of a safety switch the car has because you are applying
power directly at the starter. but what you said about having power to the ignition system and the fuel system is true in a lot of cases with new
cars. It is not true with some cars though because the other small post on the solenoid ( which becomes energized when starter is engaged ) is what
supplies power to the ignition during the start mode.
