This thread deals with the 4th amendment. Start another thread if you want to bitch about victim less crimes. For the record no, I dont enforce victim less crimes. Yes you keep repeating patriot act but cant specify your issue with it or its violations of the 4th. Do you have your own position or are you just repeating other peoples misconceptions?

Fourth Amendment:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

It's good to see so many are supportive of the Fourth Amendment, at least as far as searching someone's home goes.

I wonder if you all feel the same about someone's PERSON... If I'm pregnant, does the government have permission to enter my medical records (without warrant) and determine that they have permission to tell me what to do with my PERSON?

I have a feeling a lot of you would say that the government should be able to violate the fourth, in order to control what I do with my body.

No the government does not have that right to tell you what to do with your body. Since medical files and there release are governed by federal law (HIPPA) and the 4th applies to criminal investigations were is the line drawn?

Just like a cell phone.. You contract with a company for use of the phone on their network. Should the company be allowed to share their info on you to the government?

There is something seriously wrong here folks.
I shoot someone because they ran away from me or refused to put a knife down( from beyond arms length for the nit pickers ) or pull out a deadly cell phone then I am going to get the death penalty or life.

Murder is taking a life. End of story. Non is justified unless the person has ALLREADY ATTEMPTED or is in the act of ponting a gun / slashing a knife.

Non of this my life maybe threatened to justify murder.

If you dont like it then get out of the police force.
