At the moment a lot of wild chatter being bandied about, nothing as yet confirmed beyond there being an incident.

Reports of hostages being taken inc children, but also that it could be a robbery gone wrong and not linked to terrorism.

BBC radio reporting wounded.

My thoughts are once again with the victims, I hope this is handled fast and as stated not a repeat of before.

Not to sound offensive, but do you actually mean that? I keep on hearing thoughts and prayers are with the victims?
How many times have you thought about the victims of Charlie hebdo past month? Or this week about the victims of the Paris attack.

If people don't do it, why keep on saying it.

Hope they blow the mofos up.

Indy running with this

A hostage situation has been reported in the northern French town of Roubaix near Belgium.

Reports so far suggest that the situation is not linked to terrorism.

French news outlet iTele said men have fired at police after an attempted robbery went wrong. It is believed they are currently holed up in a house, holding a family hostage.

Several police officers have been injured.

Speaking to Reuters, a source said: "An operation is underway after hostages were taken. Gunshots were fired and the neighbourgood has been cordoned off."

"A bank director and his family may have been taken hostage."

It's kind of a stupid time to rob anything considering France police are on heightened alert due to terrorists.

Well I feel sorry for innocent people caught up in this, but France I hate that country, I was in France in 1982 when we were at war with Argentina, and they were supplying Argentina with misslies and treated us like dirt. This is France, our European Union Neighbour and friend. This is what Nato is made up of and you start war with Russia then they will all betray each other to do a deal with Russia. half will surrender without firing a shot , some will just be ignored like the Ukrainians and Italians as they swap side depending who they bump into' like the guy wi.th the ferry in The Outlaw Josie Wells.

Every man on here knows you never go into a fight with a guy that turns tail and runs and that is what Nato is made up of.
