A Brooklyn man who shot and wounded an intruder while defending his family will spend three days in Rikers Island, the same jail housing the burglar who terrorized his home, because he owns an unregistered gun.

Ronald Dixon, a 27-year-old father of two, caught an intruder rifling through drawers in his son's room early on Dec. 14.

"I went in. ... I looked in his face. I didn't know this guy; I was so shocked ... In a nervous voice I said, 'What are you doing in my house?' and he ran toward me yelling, 'Come upstairs!' like there were other people with him. I shot him 'cause I thought more people were in the house," Dixon told the New York Daily News.

And with the recent trend in advertising home invasions, this poor man was scared out of his mind about more people coming. Here you have intent to harm (running at him, in his own house) and you also have someone making a referent statement (come upstairs). It is someone practicing self-defense. He didn't break the law, he did what any of us would have done in that situation. The majority do not agree, it ain't breaking the law.

What the hell is this world coming to?

Fortunately, most southern states are "castle" states (IE, defend your home like a castle).

If a reasonable person would be in fear for your life, or serious bodily injury, use of force is allowed to protect yourself and family, up to and including lethal force.

Another reason I'll never live in NYC.

Reasonable force is a legal right in evicting someone where I am, not so much for detaining someone. Apart from dealing with an armed or hostile individual, I would also be concerned if an intruder slipped my grasp and knew that I had seen his face.

When it comes to judge and jury, what ends up happening is the dead intruder's "victim" is put on trial and is judged by people's biases towards or against him, not necessarily the plausibility of what happened. There is not going to be a huge trail of evidence from a one on one situation and all sorts of things will come up for an individual jury member making a determination.

That's why I wouldn't go to a shooting range alone with dr.

Well,
About one year ago I was mugged, at gunpoint, a block away from my house. The person ran up behind me and placed the gun behind my head...

I can tell you, for sure, that at that moment you're almost in a dreamlike state... well, you're halfway between disbelief and a total shutdown of abstarct thinking... that is, you go from being stunned to being 1000% focused and survival oriented within a nanosecond. At that moment no human, at least no human that hasn't been drugged up and brainwashed, isn't thinking about his, and his family's (in this case) survival alone. the idea of 'removing the intruder' doesn't come into play.

Now, i didn't have a gun, and, luckily, his didn't work right... but in any other situation that was like that, the ending would have gone way past abstract discussion about the law and due process. At that point you're dealing with "Nature Channel" issues.

Another part of the NWO plan. remove self preservation instincts and instead, surrender your safety and life to an armed govornment to protect your well being. Thus, the drive to disarm private citizens.

And to further deter people from defending themselves, and creating more crime victims, they prosecute people for protecting thier homes and families from intruders. Thus, serve as an example: defend yourself, go to jail and lose everything. let them take what they want, so u can be another crime satistic, so the gov can justify more security, more surveilance, more invasion and destruction of privacy and persona liberty to battle the out of control crime.

Absolutely correct!

The main drive in society by the Cabal is to make people dependent on the system so that removing personal rights is that much easier.

If you make it illegal to defend yourself, you now have no choice but to submit to the police state in order to get some protection from the predators of the world. Also, since you are no longer able to protect yourself legally, that is yet another reason to remove the right to arm oneself, which is another major obstacle the Cabal has to overcome.

He got in trouble for the unregistered gun, not the fact he shot the intruder. It is a crime to own a unregistered weapon.

yeah, what a joke, DR is right, just another attempt by the NWO to make us give up our god given rights.

The majority of the text in the link below is mostly related to near death stuff. But if you go towards the bottom where the headline says
Archangel Michael's message , I find that very very interesting.

near-death.com...

I bring that up because yesterday on Alex Jones show they had a guy on there who had a NDE and was going in depth about what he saw/felt, it was very interesting and it is quite similar to what this guy was told he needed to do. Fighting the NWO, it's bigger than you think.

A very good link. But I didn't see where it was written that he had to fight against the NWO. Or may be under the lines.

geesh! put the guns down already. If no one had guns you wouldn't need to worry half as much as you do now.

Why don't you buy stun guns? It does the same job without the loss of life (plus you get to see the arsehole burglar shake like a motha focka!)

Worng, John. Making guns illegal wont cut crime. Look at the two biggest Gun control states New York and California. The harshest gun control laws, and sky high crime rates. Gun control keeps honest citizens from having guns. Criminals simply will get thiers through black market deals.

Because they simply arent efefctive. For a small person, to defend yourself, your greatest need is distance, something a gun provides but stunner dont. Shoot them before they get close enough to take you out.

It's not really a god given right because god didn't make guns. He broke the law with an unregistered gun, he has to face the crime he commited. Its not like they caned him or something...

so Thorfinn Skullsplitter are you saying that you would not have done anything at all? simply let this person go through your house? I'm not trying to disrespect you or anything, but I'm a firm believer that a person has a right to defend their house by any means if they or any of their family members is threatened. I agree to a point about breaking the law, had the gun still been legally registered, etc, and this still happened to this man, it would be an outrage.

and UP here's a quote from the part I was talking about.

"Your forefathers created one nation under God, with liberty and justice for all. These were men of high ideals, spiritually guided and inspired to create a nation and a civilization to be admired and respected, to set an example for the rest of the world. In exercising their free will under God's guidance and direction, they created a Constitution and a Bill of Rights for every man, woman, and child to live in freedom in the pursuit of happiness. Yet these high-minded and spiritual men were soon replaced by others who, in the exercise of their free will, chose to put their egos before God and to joust with God's plan.

Oh, they'd have jailed him here in Texas if he didn't have a license. If you have a home invader, you can't shoot them with your unlicensed Uzi or Walther PK and get off scott-free, either.

Bad choices, bad decisions. He'd have gotten off scott-free if he showed up with a baseball bat (not corked) and messed the guy's knees up. And close up, a baseball bat has more stopping power.

register your guns!

I'll admit it sucks...but he could have saved himself this with a signature.... At least it's only a couple days...

Personally, 3 days in the pokey is a small price to pay for keeping my family safe.
His decision to shoot was still the right one.
