I have asked multiple takeaways, every one gives different answers

From 100 per cent lamb to bits of beef and chicken, to dont worry my friend it is halal...

Although there are lots of stories about numerous kebabs in the UK being tested, and only 3 out of like 20 were the actual lamb as advertised, the other were beef or chicken or sometimes PORK - when they advertise it as halal!

Seriously find it so hard to trust it, till now i spent the last year only eating meat i can trust aka lamb ribs or chicken wings,
but recently with me being on a budget, and donner meat only being about 3 pounds for a sizeable portion, i have recently started buying them again, and its just un-nerving not to even know what im eating.

I really do think im going to stop eating them, but do you guys know what meat is in a donner kebab, as it seems like i get a different answer every time!

Thanks

Since you put this in the Secret Societies forum I am compelled to admit that Masonic Donner Kebobs contain 100% the other other white meat.

A donner keebab is meant to be lamb, but could be anything, best not to think about and just ask for chilli source. It's more how they are stored than what they are made of should be your concern

I thought it was spiced lamb....that said, comedian Jack Dee said once he lived above a kebab shop and used to see it being delivered in hospital waste bags

I love doner meat though, not very healthy but lovely, especially in a wrap.

Never ever bought it, even in my most drunken state.
Looks like # on a stick, I don't care how it was killed or what meat it is, I'd only eat it if I was starving.

If you go to a decent kebab shop it will be 100% lamb/mutton.

It is an urban legend that they use cats, horses and rats.

If it concerns you at all, I suggest you don't ask "what's in them".

I learned a long time ago, Never ask the question unless you are ready to hear the answer.

I heard it was chicken lips and assholes.

Eat well.

Yea, all the butchers claim it's a "legend". Yet the Veterinary office is always right next door. Hmmmm.

www.mirror.co.uk...

Tests by trading standards officers showed 10 contained chicken, one had beef and one was a chicken and beef mixture

Food watchdogs found just one lamb kebab out of 13 was 100% lamb.

Tests by trading standards officers showed 10 contained chicken, one had beef and one was a chicken and beef mixture.

They also found that two out of 12 beefburgers tested contained lamb.

This is why when they smile at me behind a counter and say "dont wory my friend it is 100 per cent lamb"
i shudder

I don't truly trust any of those commercial meats.

I know a truck driver that hauled food products. He was hauling chicken from a chicken processing facility to a hot dog plant. While he was watching a fork lift driver unload his trailer, some of the boxes of chicken fell off a skid and broke open on the floor. The boxes contained chicken bones, no meat.
He asked the guy why he was hauling chicken bones to a hot dog plant.
The guy said that chicken bones were the only chicken in a chicken dog.
Yay....

It's spelled Döner. Donner kababs sound like something made from people. As in Donner Pass?
