Hello i was wondering if you could list some good time travel movies

My two favourite are
Time after Time 1979 - Jack the ripper is persued by HG Wells
and
The Time Machine 1960 - Well known, self explanitory

Another favourite of mine is 1999 a tv movie name The Thrill Seekers featuring time travelers who travel to disasters

Planet of the Apes, and Back To The Future are well known, so no need to list them

Can anyone list some good time travel movies from the 1950s onwards

Please DO NOT POST YOUTUBE LINKS, IT SLOWS DOWN MY BROWSING, AND I FIND THEM REALLY ANNOYING.
Thanks

The Time Traveller's Wife (2009)

A romantic drama about a Chicago librarian with a gene that causes him to involuntarily time travel, and the complications it creates for his marriage.

It sounds rubbish but it is really very good.

Primer (2004)

Intellectual engineers Aaron (Shane Carruth) and Abe (David Sullivan) build and sell error-checking technology with the help of their friends Robert (Casey Gooden) and Phillip (Anand Upadhyaya). But when Aaron and Abe accidentally invent what they think is a time machine, Abe builds a version capable of transporting a human and puts the device to the test. As the two friends obsess over their creation, they discover the dark consequences of their actions.

One I really enjoyed recently is Predestination based on a story by Robert Heinlein.
Predestination (2014)

A temporal agent (Ethan Hawke) embarks on a final time-traveling assignment to prevent an elusive criminal from launching an attack that kills thousands of people.

Others to recommend - The Final Countdown and The Philadelphia Experiment 2

If you're in a festive mood, there's always the countless "A Christmas Carol" remakes or original. --The muppets one is good with Michael Caine. I also like Bill Murray's, "Scrooged".

The wikipedia link I posted has a tonne of films, you can browse through titles that you like the sound of and read the synopsis.
(And wikipedia is easy on the ol' bandwidth too!)

Not really a movie it's an anime series called Steins Gate. Deals with time travel, CERN and John Titor it's 13 episodes long and follows the life of a budding young mad Scientist.

Kinda slow to start but I found it must entertaining.

I absolutely love anything time travel or time loop related and will go out of my way to watch any film, even the ones others think are terrible.

Here goes:

FAQ about time travel
Hot Tub Time Machine
Somewhere in Time
Safety not Guaranteed
Peggy Sue Got Married
Deja Vu
About Time
The Lakehouse
12.01

Some romantic schmaltz in there but some nice films too.

There was also one I remember with Jeff Daniels where there are these time travellers going back in time to witness tragedies. I think it had a different name in the US but something like Timescape.

I will be watching this thread closely to hopefully get some new stuff to watch.

Scally 😺

No one mentioned "Looper" which was actually pretty good (7.5 on IMDB)

But I've got to say that as a couple have mentioned Predestination is my favorite.

The Simsons - Treehouse of Horror V

In a parody of A Sound of Thunder, while trying to fix a broken toaster, Homer accidentally turns it into a time machine. It transports him to prehistoric times where he realizes he must be careful because if he affects anything in the past, it could change the future. After swatting a mosquito, he returns to the present to find a dystopia where Ned Flanders is now the dictator of the world. Homer travels back in time again to try to set things right; however, he accidentally kills a walking fish, and after returning to the present he finds Bart and Lisa are giants, narrowly avoiding being crushed by them. He then sneezes and infects the dinosaurs with a cold virus while defending himself from a Tyrannosaurus Rex, which proceeds to cause their extinction. He is initially pleased with the results in the present; amongst other perks, the family is now extremely wealthy and Patty and Selma are dead, but is terrified to find that donuts do not exist in this timeline and flees, seconds before donuts begin raining from the sky. In another world, Willie tries to help Homer, but is again hit in the back with an axe, this time by a James Earl Jones-voiced Maggie. When Homer returns to the prehistoric times again, he furiously smashes everything in sight with a baseball bat. After several more trips back and forth in time, Homer eventually arrives in a reality that appears normal; he finds that humans eat with lizard-like tongues, but decides it is "close enough".
