So far I have seen more plans for protest at this years inauguration of the president than in any of the past elections.

www.nogw.com...

The above site contains a list of all the protests. With all the protests it would be a perfect opportunity for an assassination if one were to occur.

No 0 year elected president since 1840 has ever left office alive, except for Reagan. Some say that Reagan survived his assassination attempt because of the astronomical alignment being in a favorable sign. But now that sign has passed and most likely any assassination attempt would be fatal.

Has anyone heard any rumors about an assassination or more than normal security?

Notice, though, that Reagan died during the administration of the next guy in line to fall due to that Indian "curse." Close but no banana!

I would not be surprised in the least if something actually happened. I don't wish it to, though, let's get that clear. I doubt it will because security will be extremely tight.

Now what Indian was it that laid that curse? I forget. I'm not into laying hexes or any of that hocus-pocus, obviously, but I'm just curious.

The winds of change are blowing....Bush will remain in power for years, then the brother upon George's demise....We will only have but our memories of yesteryear, the good old times...

When presidents were elected by the people
When we were free to travel
Remember a thing called Social Security?
When we had freedom of expression

Those were the days.

I hear ya. This post-9/11 America is just plain scary.

Oh--I visited that site, lockheed--here's a picture from it:

That kinda sums it up....

Yep, this is about right.

However, an inauguration is too obvious... presidential assassinations always came at unexpected venues - the theatre for Lincoln, a railway station for Garfield, the Pan-American Exposition for McKinley, and a visit to Dallas for Kennedy (how many other tours did JFK take in that convertible limo?).

You know, I wonder how many people think I'm a liberal because I'd love to see Bush impeached.

Trust me, I'm a conservative. I'm just one that knows better.

Chief Tecumseh.

Legend has it that, after the battle of Tippecanoe in 1811, the Shawnee chief Tecumseh sent Gen. William Henry Harrison a message. Delivered by released prisoners, the chief's words are supposed to have been a prophecy that history has labeled "Tecumseh's Curse": "Harrison will not win this year to be the great chief. But he may win next year. If he does ... he will not finish his term. He will die in office."

"But Chief Tecumseh, no president has ever died in office," one prisoner reportedly argued. "Harrison will die, I tell you," Tecumseh is said to have insisted. "And when he dies you will remember the deaths of my people. You think that I have lost my powers: I who caused the sun to darken and red men to give up firewater. But I tell you Harrison will die. And after him, every great chief chosen every twenty years thereafter will die. And when each one dies, let everyone remember the death of our people."

I never voted for Bush. Like my siggy says....
I voted for Peroutka because he's pro-life (Bush is not) and he's pro-Constitution.

You know, I'd love to see a bumper sticker that says: SAVE THE CONSTITUTION--IMPEACH BUSH.

ATS Moderators:

I'm all for free speech on the internet and elsewhere, but posting a thread such as this is totally outrageous. It's one thing to disagree with a president and/or their policies, but openly discussing good opportunities for assassination plots is way over the top.

Please exercise some common sense and remove it.

He supposedly flat-lined on the operating table, but was revived.

No one's conspiring to assasinate anyone! It's funny that oppressing free speech is now common sense to some people, where as defending free speech used to be common sense.

Any attempt to take Mr. Bush out during his inauguration would just be plain silly not to mention suicidal. If one were to attempt something of this nature, it should be done when he or the S.S would least expect it. I voted for Bush and I think it is a scary the path he is leading we sheeple down. The element of surprise is the key to pulling off something like this. Just in case this board is being viewed by the authorities, I do not advocate anything that would harm our president but some other world leaders would be better off if they were out of the equation.

A little clarification, I never posted this in order to encourage an assassination... I was just wondering if any people had been talking about causing trouble at the inauguration. Hopefully nothing will happen and Bush will be sworn in without a problem.

Free speech is free speech, regardless of whether you like your puppet president or not.

The only thing that is outrageous is that nobody has taken notice of the good ideas for open opportunity. That's way over the top, frankly I'm amazed he's survived this long considering the amount of people he has "rubbed up the wrong way".

Due to the Very sensitive Nature of this subject, I am locking this thread untill this can be discussed by staff. While I believe that any one and everyone could be reading this thread (ya never know), it has it's good points and bad points. This has nothing to do with Free Speech (Because it is a privately owned board), but a matter of whether this is appropriate.

Please sit tight

**OK, Please keep this ON TOPIC! the moment this gets out of control it goes bye bye. Got it?

Not cool at all IMO.

Although I am for free speech and 1st Amendment
I think this thread should be deleted and archived by the moderators.

The things that can save our world is if all of the world agree to not fight each other.

The reason we weren't mining the asteroid belts 50 years ago is because of things like this. It's a message from certain people saying if we all stop fighting each other over petty stuff (I can see a friendly argument and I can understand trolls and 'flamefights' on the net because they are fun sometimes).

However once everyone on earth stop fighting over oil and money and other pointless reasons(which is going to be outdated soon I can predict) other we will be able to put our minds together just like ancient civilizations and get on with the 21st century and all of us as a whole, *EVERYONE* can have real freedom then. The people on earth can start mining the asteroid belts and going to distant planets for summer vacations. I dream of that day.

And I want to travel to other planets once we are all able to.
Remember all of us as humans stumbled along the easy path to nowhere. And we all need to wake up and all of us work TOGETHER.
That's what will make the world beautiful again.

Actually Reagon is said to have Broken the curse by surviving.
