I got a IMac which I intend to use as a monitor for my PC, but I'm interested in formatting it and upgrading to anything, you guys know how to fix ma
s***!
Why don't you just upgrade the operating system to the latest version?
I have an iMac here at home. it's an Early 2008 with a 2.4ghz core 2 duo and 4 gigs of ram. I haven't done it yet. But I'm almost at the point of
upgrading it to 6 gigs of ram. But you need a 2gig and 4 gig ram chip to do so.
How much ram does it have. You'll need at least 4 gigs of ram in order to upgrade.
I was able to upgrade my 2008 to a newer OS X version. However it required looking online for a newer version of OS X that supported the app store.
And from there I was able to upgrade to 10.9.5.
Now if you do manage to find the iso for OS X 10.6 online somewhere.
here are the steps to put it on a usb drive and install it. computers.tutsplus.com...
You should be able to upgrade without formating your drive. I know I did.
