According to the ongoing investigation, the aircraft was in a non-stabilized approach, with full flaps deployed, even though both pilots had been
trained to use partial flaps until landing was ensured. The crew was heard discussing the landing, including their airspeed. The captain was heard
saying, "You're going 120. You can't keep decreasing your speed, because (we're) gonna stall." Once on the localizer, he was heard saying, "You're
diving. You're diving. Don't dive". A sound consistent with the stick shaker was heard just prior to a ground proximity warning.
Both pilots were fired from previous employment for failing to attend training sessions, and the copilot's former employer said that he had struggled
with ground and simulator training on the 737 before being terminated.
