Since independence they have been isolationists. They created their own world. Can't blame them for the mentality.

Also, people who come to this website tend to have trust issues with their own countries and government, cos they have lived that life and are familiar with policies /injustices. Few people here would have signed up to ATS cos they felt an injustice in a remote village 10000 miles away. Wrong choir here I feel.

Many have concerns for their fellow man, but will look for comfort closer to home. I personally couldn't care about conspiracies in Kazakhstan, but that doesn't mean i have less empathy then someone concerned with it.

Just for the record I'm English and are aware of this mentality, but I am also aware who I am interacting with and the underlying purpose for them being on this website, often to find a truth that they feel the government hasn't divulged.

I and many other non americans are not concerned with the Mexican immigration problem. They can equally start up a thread about you and me. Food for thought!

However, what really upsets me is the comments telling Europeans and British people we have somehow deserved it because of war.

And thar you go. If not for the US and war ,neither Europe nor Britain would be "free" today

There we go again. America is not the name of the country that you seem to be talking about.

People abbreviate to the well-known and understood nickname of "America" when referencing The United States of America. Generally, other Americans (i.e. Canada, Peru, Uruguay, Costa Rica, Mexico, etc.) aren't bothered by this, because they're always referred to by their full and proper name. Likewise, European countries are referred to by their proper name, except when their politican union is abbreviated, just the same, to the shortened form (Europe, rather than The European Union.)

"The United States of America" is awfully bulky to say, and it would be too confusing for most people to identify each of us "Americans" by our actual nation (Californians, New Yorkers, Rhode Islanders, Oregonians, New Mexicans - well, the last example is always fun to say at least.)

When you say isolationists as an american i think of a county like north korea. When has america ever isolated itself? Since independence this country has done nothing but expand I wouldn't say the expantion was ethically right but I cant really think of a time when america was isolating themselves unless your referring to america isolating other countrys.

Is that a genuine post?
You're country was founded on isolationism.
Why do you think you never contributed for the first years of ww2. Why did you never declare war on hitler until he did to you.
You shouldn't have bunked school so much mate.
I'm still shocked you've said that.lol

I don't think i would consider that isolationism but then there seems to be cultural differences in our education systems. as far as not contributing did we not loose the USS Ruben James escorting supplies to England even though we were not involved in actually fighting? There were contributions made just not contributions of troops at the time.

I think there is a difference in definition here. America was founded on it, to not be influenced by Europe and religion.

In terms of escorts, america initially did not escort supplies outside your waters, whilst Canada did ( hence alot of English have respect for Canadas contribution). We were still repaying loans up until very recently (extortionate costs and supplying to both sides, won't get into that)

The reason americans were sent to the worst beaches with the gun hoe style was for the lack of contribution in the initial years, a peace offering if you will. Other allies wouldn't dare tackle those beaches. Allies didn't have the same numbers at that time cos we had lost many in previous years.

Like you say different education systems tailored to there own. In Poland they teach stalin was a saviour not realising that we (britain) were the first to act once the treaty was broken and Poland invaded. To do that and to have history changed to demonise our veterans is not good.

The Earth is not the center of the Universe, let alone the US.

Thanks for that, Captain Obvious.

You're welcome Ambassador Rain on my Parade.

The wrong thing about your post is the apparent current requirement to join ATS of both hating the US and supporting Russia.

Nope. No hostility. Just going to point out one thing...it depends on where in the Universe you are viewing America from.

To sum this up, I'll keep it short & simple.

America: The place where 300,000,000+ people think they know better than the other 6,700,000,000+, because making sense and /or knowledge pertaining to the rest of the planet is eschewed. Patriots ain't got no need for that learnin'.

It's 310,000,000 not 300,000 but whose counting...

Actually 1% think they know better than the other 99%, just to get it straight.

But, based on this logic most like to scrutinize their own countries of origin since were a country of immigrants.

I would invite to you to prove to me that the universe is NOT centered on the United States of America!

What was it that scientist said...extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof???

Mommy always said the world revolves around me...and, well, as an American, who lives in the US...you, my friend...

ARE WRONG!
